A/N: This is my first fanfiction, please do not rate to harshly. Obviously, it is not finished. I am aware this chapter is short, but that is purely to see if anyone would be interested in me continuing this. Please review on what little I have done so far and I shall continue. I expect this to be only 1-3k words long. I have a much longer (30k+ words) story in the planning stage atm, so any feedback on my writing/grammar is obviously much appreciated. Thanks for reading/reviewing. - Hanako Scars.

"Get out of my face, brat".

"Oh come on dad, you promised you'd make this day special for mom".

"I did no such thing, and even if I did, I do not intend to deliver in my promise".

"Father, it's the ONE time of year where you have to make an effort, can't you just do it this once?"

Vegeta grunted. It was that time of year again. Valentines day. What was the point in having a day to show your appreciation to someone? You are forced to spend almost every second with them you aren't training, yet you're still expected to make an EFFORT!?

"Fine", the Saiyan Prince growled. "I shall fetch a gift for the foolish woman. However, if I am interrupted in my training again for the remainder of this year, I shall make sure you don't have the spirit, nor the physical ability to please your own materialistic woman".

Vegeta shut down the gravity chamber, and flew off into the distance. Trunks smirked, he couldn't believe it was that easy, he was at least expecting to suffer a black eye or a cracked rib for daring to challenge his father. Maybe he really wanted to give his mother a gift, and just didn't want it to seem like he was doing it purely out of his own selfless needs?

***3 hours later***

Bulma is humming quietly in the kitchen. "Woman, get your ass in here". Bulma wanders cautiously through to the living room. What could Vegeta possibly want ? He's usually training around this time.

When Bulma finally managed to make her way in, dodging past the inconveniently placed toys that Trunks had left lying everywhere in the hallway, she came upon the most unexpected sight imaginable.
