I know there's a lot of these, but... yeah. I'll probably delete this after sixty seconds so read it while you can. And review.
Just letting you know, this is going to be very, very weird. And strange.
Takes place in the cellar right after they put the cup together.
"Is anyone feeling a bit… dizzy?" With a laugh Rufus Zeno swept up the stairs, leaving the confused and frightened group alone in the cellar.
"Guys," Fabian burst out in alarm, fingers tightening on the edge of the table. "Guys—I think—" He swallowed and closed his eyes, a vein throbbing in his neck.
He tried again. "Guys, I—" He broke off with a groan and fell to his knees, squeezing his eyes shut tighter.
"Fabian?" There were hands appearing at his sides, screams ringing in his ears. "Omigod, Fabian!"
His stomach lurched and he fell forward, clutching his midsection. "Oh, god," He muttered, before leaning over and emptying his stomach. He cried out in pain, the splatter of undigested food echoing in his ears and making him want to throw up again.
A pair of arms wrapped around him, holding him, comforting him: he was too preoccupied to notice who it was, but he leaned into the touch, trying to focus on something other than the pressure in his chest and the pounding in his head.
"You are not to die on me, you hear?" A voice whispered in his ear, sweet and soothing and desperate. "Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. You got that?"
Nina.
Of course, he wanted to say to her, to reassure her, but his mouth wouldn't form the words. I won't leave you, not now, not ever. I promise.
He should've known better than to make promises he couldn't keep.
A blast of pain exploded in his head and he screamed, his hands flying up to his face. Amber was crying and Joy was screaming and Nina was on the floor next to him, whispering words of comfort and trying not to start crying herself. Jerome and Alfie were off to the side somewhere and he didn't know where Victor went.
And then it was like someone pressed a pillow over his face.
His arms flailed madly as he fought to draw breath, his back arching and his eyes rolling up into his head. He was gasping for breath that wouldn't come and there was pain, pain in his chest, like someone had taken a white-hot knife and stuck it between his ribs.
He screamed, and someone's hand found his and he squeezed it so hard he thought it might crack.
And then he felt as if someone was wrenching his heart out of his body, digging into his flesh and grabbing his heart and yanking it out of him and then—
It was calm. Blissful, peaceful, calm. Surrounded by whiteness.
No more hurt. No more pain.
"Nina?"
But there was no Nina, here, either.
"Fabian? Fabian!" She was shaking him, willing him to wake up, wake up, wake up!
No no no no no….
There was a hand on her shoulder and someone was talking to her and someone was crying and there was hot tears streaming down, down, down and she was still shaking the lifeless body and crying and tears streaming and it was all her stupid fault and this could not be happening and no no no no no no
"FABIAN!"
But he would never wake up.
He was gone.
Told you it was weird. So, review?
