Steve just couldn't shake that eerie feeling. No matter where he went, it would slowly creep up his spine, slowly eating at his nerves. Whether he be mining deep underground or chopping wood on the surface, the strange feeling would always follow. Steve was convinced that he was being watched.
He often found himself wondering how it was even possible, considering he was the only sentient being on this planet. He took in the likelihood that he just hadn't explored the planet enough and maybe there was another human being on this desolate world besides himself. But if that was the case, surely they would have met by now. Humans are social by nature, right?
Taking that into account, Steve wondered if maybe he was just imagining this feeling. He had been alone for quite some time, and maybe all this solitude was starting to get to him. He didn't want to think it about that any longer, so he just continued to hack away at a tree trunk with his iron axe.
The tree trunk fell to pieces and Steve collected them. Then, from the corner of his eye, he saw movement. He spun around somewhat frantically, hoping to spot his stalker. What he was met with did little to relieve his nerves. It was a rabbit; an innocent rabbit that just happened to be hopping across the way. Steve was sure that his paranoia was getting to him, and he really needed to relax. The solitary life would drive him insane one day. Steve hoped that day wouldn't come anytime soon. As he turned and started for his home, the eerie feeling wouldn't leave.
Steve was so sure that sign hadn't existed earlier in the day. But there it was; planted into the ground in front of his home, with only two words carved jaggedly into the wood.
WAKE UP
What did it mean? Steve wasn't sure. He got the impression that something was going on, though. Those words were important; they just had to be! He didn't know what was going on or why, Steve knew someone or something was trying to tell him something. Maybe. He couldn't be quite sure, he just had a feeling…
That feeling, it would never leave him. Steve was convinced that it would drive him to the edge; it was just a matter of time. And then, it happened. While he was chopping wood in the forest fog, he saw him. In the distance of the forest, Steve noticed the man staring at him. Steve smiled. Finally, his stalker had been identified. He just knew he wasn't crazy!
Steve stopped what he was doing and stared toward the figure in the fog. But the closer he got, the further away the figure seemed to be. Eventually, though, Steve felt he was close enough to touch the figure. He reached out to touch him, but his arm phased right through him and the figure vanished. Steve was utterly confused and creped out. There was somebody there, and he hadn't imagined it.
Slowly, Steve turned around to see the same man standing in the distance. He watched as the figure turned and vanished behind a tree. Steve wasn't imagining this, was he? Maybe his solitude was causing him to see things. Steve wasn't crazy. Right?
A/N: So this is obviously based off the Herobin rumor/myth, which I only heard of just recently. Yeah, I don't play a lot of Minecraft. So, I think I could have done better with this fanfic, but I've been at a loss of inspiration lately. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, so if you could click that 'review' button, that'd be nice. So, for now, ciao.
