Author's Note: This is really my first story to put out there for the world to read. Please give me your thoughts, I'd love to know what you think!!

Introduction

There are people in this world who spend their whole lives searching, and searching for a place to belong. With much happiness I can assure you I am not one of these people. My name is Lyneth Cailan Witroth, and I belong in Glyndon.

Glyndon is, in my eyes, the most beautiful country one could hope to live in. It's land is lush and green, flat in every which way. From a single balcony you may look into the sparkling horizon and see another kingdom, hundreds of miles away. Our royal family is just, and fair. Because of their love and sweet nurturing of their country there is not a soul in Glyndon who would not give his life for King Rhys or his gracious wife Gwen. I have always felt passionately for Glyndon, it is my only home, and I could not introduce myself to you properly without first telling you this.

My father is full Glyndonian. There is not a known ancestor of his who has not been. Which is why it astounded many when he married my mother, Isleen. As the King's first Advisor, my father travels a great deal of the time, especially when he was a younger man. He would travel across deserted lands, and over wide oceans to meet with the courts of other kingdoms. When he was twenty four years of age, he was sent to the Kingdom of Seel. Through it is the furthest kingdom from Glyndon, the trip was vital to insure peace between our nations. Four long months later my father arrived back to Glyndon with not only a settlement between countries, but a beautiful new wife.

Then, and even now my mother is considered very exotic. Because of her Seelian heritage, she is the only woman (save for me) to have red hair. But hers is not only red hair, but bright fiery red hair, with thick tight curls. What I have inherited from her is brown hair with a reddish hue, what you would call auburn. The curls, I did not receive, but my hair does fall into stubborn waves if I do not tame them. I always tame them. Even so, my hair is also considered unique. You see in Glyndon, our people are fair skinned, with hair usually of a dark brown or black shade. Fair headed women are cherished, there are very few of them within this nation. Queen Gwen is one of these. She is tall and slender, with long locks of golden blonde hair and clear brown eyes. You would be daft to think that her striking features were not the first to capture the attention of young Rhys.

Speaking of the king, my father Sir Cadell Witroth, is a dear friend to him. My grandfather was also a member of the royal court and as his son, my father grew up amongst the royal children. King Rhys and my father have been close through childhood and remain that way today. They are so close, that in fact the King's eldest son Caden was named after him. My father is greatly treasured by the King, and I am so proud to be called his daughter.

Here I have given you a true glimpse into the structure of my life. My mother and father, my passion for Glyndon, and the station of my family. But I would like to take you further through my life, let you look into my heart and feel my wants and my desires. Allow me to tell you my story not only as a a daughter of nobility, but as a girl who has felt love and went for it, and as a girl who has found love and lost it. This time I sincerely promise, the common fairy tale of the handsome prince and the lowly pauper will go much deeper than you can imagine.
