Faye groaned as the sunlight streamed through the window, making her squint. Her head pounded insistently, and she stared around in confusion at the pretty bed in which she was lying – certainly not her own. What the hell? she thought. The room did look familiar with its too-pink themes and the flowers on the borders of the white curtains.
Suddenly, the memories of the previous night came flooding back. This place was the room of Diana Meade, the beautiful brunette with whom Faye didn't always see eye to eye. She'd only been in this room a few times, a couple of those times being in middle school. And now that she thought about it, she remembered Diana chatting to Cassie about remodeling her young girl-ish room.
She remembered drinking quite a bit, and a tipsy game of truth-or-dare. Melissa had mischievously dared her to kiss Diana. Diana glared at Melissa, but she'd grabbed the nape of Faye's neck a little too eagerly for someone who supposedly couldn't stand Faye. It was all kind of adorable.
The bed shifted and Faye nearly jumped. She had still been disoriented before, but now she felt a warm presence right behind her. Their legs touched and Faye tried to get a look at the occupant of the bed without waking them. But she was so comfortable…Faye sank back and an arm draped lightly over her waist. Diana?! Well, of course.
Faye tried to still her beating heart. As soon as Diana woke up, this would be over. She would freak out and never look at Faye again. But it was too late. Faye heard a sleepy voice, "Faye, is that you?"
"H-hey," Faye stammered, and then blushed. So much for being casual.
"What…what are we doing?" Diana said, fully awake now and sitting up, Faye along with her. Faye was suddenly acutely aware that Diana was in nothing but underwear. She tried to stop herself, but her eyes travelled over Diana's smooth, rich skin. Diana noticed and grabbed a blanket.
"You tell me," Faye said, still struggling to regain her usual husky flirtatiousness. Get it together. This is like any one night stand you've ever had.
"Oh, my god. I can't believe that…you and me…" Diana looked up into Faye's eyes.
"Oh, Diana. Calm down," Faye said, although she found herself getting distracted by Diana's chocolate eyes.
"We shouldn't have done this," Diana said, and Faye, remembering how Diana had ripped her clothes off in such a hurry the previous night, frowned.
"Oh, don't be such a saint. You know you enjoyed that," Faye said, and Diana looked like she was about to retort, but to Faye's surprise, she gave a tiny, reluctant smile. Faye loved the curve of Diana's lips and her tousled morning hair. Faye took this as an invitation to move in closer. "You know…it really wasn't bad last night."
"I know," Diana murmured. Faye leaned in closer and kissed her softly on the lips. Diana wasn't so outgoing now that she wasn't drunk, but she put her hands tentatively in Faye's hair. Faye would come back the next night. And she made a mental note to thank Melissa.
