Hello everyone! Here is Chapter 1 revised. Yes I removed all the other chapters. It would be to confusing to leave them after this one had been revised.

Also would anyone like to be my beta reader?

I also do not own Generator Rex. Please enjoy the story.

A boy, no more than six, sets his bag down on his new bed. He takes in the sight of his room, a frown present on his face. He knows why he is here, but that doesn't make the move any easier. It doesn't make the ever-gnawing anxiety in him any better. He breaths in deep and slowly lets it release. Something his mother taught him to help deal with his emotions. He decided that he did not like feeling of anxiousness. Yet, isn't that the reason he came here?

'I want to taste, to feel, to live.'

Yes, that is his desire, his wish, to become human.

"Jeremy."

The boy turns to see his mother standing in the doorway, arms filled with a box. Her whole being radiates calmness, but her eyes held an ancient power.

"Here is the box with your inventions. However," She says placing the box on the dresser, "I be taking this back."

A toaster emerges from the box and a smile plays across her lips. Really how was she supposed to cook anything, if all her appliances kept being taken apart.

"Now, put your clothes away. I'll make us dinner."

Jeremy's mother turns and leave the room, toaster in hand. Jeremy huffs a little. He had big plans for that toaster.

Later that evening the small family sits at the table enjoying their dinner. Adaline watches as her son tucks into his spaghetti with delight. Jeremy hadn't yet encountered a food he didn't like, but the whole human experience was new to him, so it was only a matter of time. Adaline smiled, a new idea coming to her. Perhaps tomorrow night they could make pizza together. No doubt Jeremy will love putting the topping on. Adaline feels a small tap on her arm and looks down at her son.

"I am finished." The boy says with sauce covering his mouth.

Adaline stands and picks up his plate.

"Go hop into the tub. It's getting late and I want you to be bright-eyed and bushy-tail for tomorrow."

Jeremy blinks. "But, I do not have a tail."

Laughter erupts from Adaline as she washes the dishes.

"No, you do not. It's an expression, meaning to be awake and ready."

"Oh, I understand."

Jeremy slides off his chair to walk over to the bathroom but pauses.

"Are you sure that I have to attend school? I do not believe, I will have problem obtaining information."

Adaline walks over to Jeremy, kneels and places her hands on his shoulders.

"Jeremy, you learn more at school then just math or science, it's about the experience. A real heart needs to grow from the things you see, the people you meet and the life you live." She leans in and places a kiss on the boy's forehead. "Besides, just think of all the fun you'll have."

The boy's mouth clenches and his eyebrows knit together, as fear and curiosity fight to take priority in his mind. To have a real heart and body, to be a real human, those are the reasons why he came here. If his mother believes that school will help achieve that goal than he would go to school, no matter how much it scares him. Jeremy's features relax as he smiles up at his mother. She smiles back and places another kiss on his forehead. Jeremy then scampers off to the bathroom. Soon a slender figure, no bigger than that of a thirteen-year-old, slides pass the doors of the balcony. Sensing a presence, she looks over and meets the red eyes of a young demon.

"Well it's about time you got home Zoma."

"Sorry, my Lady Adaline. This world is so different, I got kind of lost...and distracted."

Laughing the woman shakes her head, "Yes this world is can be quite distracting. Well you're home now, so might as well go get ready for bed. We have an early day tomorrow. I need train to blend in better, so you can go to school."

Confusion clouds Zoma's face. "I have to go to school?"

"Yes, you have to go. I can't have a thirteen-year-old-looking child not go to school. It would raise questions in this world."

Nodding, Zoma proceeds to his room but stops short. Confusion once again clouds his face, and he looks back at the woman, who had gone back to washing the dishes.

"But what is school?"

"It's a place where you go to learn all sorts of things, like math and history."

"I thought that only really old people do that." The young demon says as his head tilts.

Rinsing the dishes, she continues. "Maybe in Dusis, but in this world children go to school. Education is considered more of a necessity here, than a luxury."

Zoma slowly nods his head as clarity comes to him. "I understand, my lady."

"Adaline."

"What?"

"Here it's just Adaline, Addi, or big sister. Best not to let people know who or what I am."

A smile appears on the young demon's face. "Yes, Adaline."

With that he turns in for the night.

GRGRGRGRGRGR

The next morning finds Jeremy at the bus stop with his mother and Zoma. Jeremy's body is stiff. His back is straight and his eyes stare forward at the road. He breathes in than out, attempting to calm the anxiety that is welling up inside him. A hand threads through his hair and Jeremy lets his body relax, soaking in the calmness from his mother.

"You'll do great."

Jeremy turns to Zoma who is now kneeling beside him

"I may not know a whole lot when it comes to this world or even school, but I know that you'll do great." The demon child says giving him an enthusiastic smile.

Which Jeremy suppose is easy for Zoma to say. The older child gets to start next week. He tried to convince mother let him start a week later too, but she would ruffle his hair and tell him 'it's time.'

"He's right." Adaline says as she continues to thread her fingers through Jeremy's hair. "Today is going to be a great day."

Jeremy sighs and looks back towards the street. How could they be so happy when facing the possibility of failure? Soon the bus arrives, and its doors open wide, like a predator waiting to devour its prey, adding to the fear that is already coursing through the boy. Holding his breath, he gingerly steps on and sits down on the first available seat. He lets the breath out shakily, so far, no problems. He then turns to stare out the window to see his mother, who is happily waving at him, and Zoma. He wishes Zoma was coming with him. Maybe school would not be as scary then, but he knows that is not possible. As the bus pulls away, Jeremy takes a deep breath in and slowly releases it as he watches his little family disappear.

"Hi!" A loud vibrant voice calls out.

Jeremy's head whips around to find a pudgy boy with black hair and dark brown eyes staring happily at him.

"I'm Everret and this is Arwen." The loud boy announces while pointing to a scrawny boy with auburn hair and glasses next to him. "What's your name?"

Jeremy just stares at the boy; his mind is frozen, eyes wide. What is he supposed to do again? All that he was taught just seems to escape at that moment. Oh gosh, he was going to fail, and he was not even at the school yet. Finally, his mind unfreezes as he manages to stammer out his name.

"I am Jeremy."

"Hi Jeremy." A soft voice calls as Jeremy's eyes shift to the scrawny boy identified as Arwen.

"Are you in first grade? We're in first grade. Our teacher is Miss RayBurn. She's nice. How old are you? I'm six, so is Arwen." Jeremy's eyes widen even more, as he listens to the dark hair boy rattle on excitedly, his mind whirling.

The chatter continues, leaving Jeremy baffled that someone could talk so much. Just when he thinks that his mind will suffer from a complete shutdown, the bus finally arrives at the school. Jeremy, hoping to somehow escape, quickly leaves his seat but finds himself block by the rest of the children. Both Arwen and Everett stand on either of him, leaving Jeremy with no other choice but to walk with the two boys into the school.

As it turns out Jeremy is in Miss RayBurn's class. The teacher and Jeremy stand in front of the class, as the teacher introduces him.

"Okay, Jeremy, your desk is over there in-between Everret and Arwen."

Jeremy walks over to his assigned seating and promptly sits down hoping that no-one will pay any more attention to him.

"Now class we will start with math. Who would like to try this prob..."

'Miss RayBurn please report to the office immediately. Thank you.' The intercom cracks out interrupting the teacher.

"Okay class wait here quietly, and I will be back in a moment." The teacher's eye twitches not happy about being interrupted so early in the day.

She sets down her chalk and leaves the classroom. The room is still, as the clicking of her heels are heard fading down the hall. As soon as noise disappears the class erupts into a clamor of voices.

"Hey new kid."

Turning Jeremy finds a rather tall boy with sandy blond hair staring down at him.

"Where you from?"

"I..."

"Are you a girl?" The tall boy interrupts.

"What? No." Jeremy's eyebrows raise in confusion. After all, even a six-year-old should intuitively be able to tell the difference between males and females. Before he could properly react, the sandy blond hair boy rips a small blood-red amulet, Jeremy is wearing, away from his neck.

"You must be a girl. Only girls wear necklaces." The boy waves it in front of the class as some of the children giggle.

"Hey, boys can wear necklaces too." Arwen says in defense of Jeremy.

Fury rises in Jeremy's chest and he sticks out his hand. "That is mine. Return it."

"Yeah, give it back Ricky." Everett says coming to stand by Jeremy.

Now dangling it in front of Jeremy, the blond taunts him with it. "Whose gonna make me, huh?"

A hard frown appears on Jeremy's face. Before he can retort, a voice breaks into the conversation, stopping any attempt to retrieve the necklace.

"Teacher's coming!"

All the children scramble back to their desks as the teacher walks in.

"Sorry about the interruption. Let's continue with our lesson. Okay, who would like to solve the problem on the board?"

Miss RayBurn goes on with the lesson, but Jeremy doesn't hear a word. His mind is in an all-out panic mode. What is he going to do? He was instructed to never take that amulet off and now he manages to have it stolen. School has barely just begun. At this rate he'll never gain a real body. Possibly at the break he could talk with the sandy-haired boy, reason with him. That should work, right? However, time is not in favor of the young human-in-training. Each lesson seems to drag, making him more antsy. Brown eyes glance at the clock for the hundredth time that morning. Sighing, Jeremy returns to his work, five more minutes, then he could get the amulet back.

THUD

Half the class jumps at the sound and Miss Rayburn quickly moves to the window. A look of panic flashes across the teacher's face but she quickly regains control.

"Quickly. Single file. We're going to the gym." The teacher ushers the children. Confuse the children begin to line up and leave as another thud is heard, shaking the room and cracking the wall. A few of the children start to cry as the thudding repeats, further damaging the wall.

"Don't worry, quickly now." Escorting the last of the children out, Miss Rayburn leads them away to safety as part of the wall tears away.

GRGRGRGRGRGRGR

Rex is having a good day, actually, a good week. Everything is going well, which from previous experience, tells Rex will not last long. However, he is not going to waste this opportunity. So, he does the only thing he can do when luck is on his side, fight the mega-boss on his video game. His eyes narrow in concentration, just a few more hits are all he needs, then sweet victory. Sadly, as he is about to deal the finishing blow, the screen goes black with an 'alert' flashing across. A scow makes it appearance on the teen's face as he tosses the controller to the side. Grabbing his jacket, the sixteen-year-old jogs off to the command center.

"What do we have today Six? High profile bank robbers, ambassadors need saving, that freaky clown duo trying to steal diamonds again? Not that they could, with me and all."

Agent Six ignores the rambling of his young charge as he brings up footage of the attack. "No, Benjamin Franklin Elementary School is under attack by Richard Vacoli."

Rex scratches the back of his head, curiosity peaked. "That crazy guy? Wait I thought we put him away and why an elementary?"

"That's what we're sending you to find out." An albino man known as White Knight interjects. "And this time, keep damage to minimal, hotshot."

"Don't worry White, I got this." The EVO teen gestures, displaying his well-known smile. "So, Bobo ready to kick crazy's butt?"

The chimp looks up at the teen with a gleeful smile. "I'm always ready to kick crazy's butt."

Sure enough as the team arrives, there is Richard Vacoli, in all his crazy glory, ripping out a wall of an elementary. The machine of choice this time is a large, dome-like cylinder robot that has two legs and large claws.

"Seriously man, why are you attacking an elementary school? I know you're crazy, but this is just ridiculous," Rex says as he lifts his goggles.

Vacoli turns toward the EVO teen with a gleeful look, that pretty much tells you he is in fact, crazy.

"Aw, Rex. It's so good to see you. I'll crush you, take the energy source, and be on my merry way."

With that the mad man brings the mechanical claws of the machine down on Rex. The EVO teen rolls off to one side, avoiding the large metal arms with a giant smirk on his face. The idiot told him the plan and all he had to do was stand takes another swing at Rex but the arm stops abruptly as a katana finds its way into one of the joints, causing electrical sparks to erupt.

"Rex, there are still children in the building. Lead Vacoli away from the school."

Rex gives a short nod to Six as he begins to run away from the school.

Rex stops and turns, making sure to get the man's full attention.

"Hey Vacoli! You know every time we meet, I swear your machines keep getting worse. Of course, then again, they'll never be as good as mine." Rex further taunts the man by showing off his smack hands.

Rage fills the man as he lunges the machine towards Rex with the pure intent of crushing the teen. He swings the non-damaged arm, as he makes another attempt to swat the teen away, only to meet large, orange ones. Rex pushes against the machine and then he pulls back, lifting it off the ground and slamming it back down. Bobo starts firing to help keep the man down. A realization flutters across the Vacoli's mind. Rex is trying to distract him from the school. Vacoli's hands fly over the controls, redirecting the robot for the building.

"Oh, no you don't." A blue whip encircles the machine as Rex pulls Vacoli back.

Electricity surges from the whip into the machine. As power starts to fade, Vacoli furiously types out a command, releasing a tiny object that goes unnoticed by Rex. The mad man than swings the machine's leg out. Vacoli breaks the whip's connection and sends the boy skidding a couple of feet. Bobo fires at the robot to draw attention away from Rex. Vacoli turns his attack on the chimp and lashes his arm out. Bobo jumps out-of-the-way as the arm creates a dent in the pavement.

"Oh, so you want to use mechanical legs. Well how about mechanical feet!?" Forming his punk blasters Rex leaps up and throws a kick back at the robot, caving half of it in.

"No, what have you done!?" Vacoli cries out as his control panel sparks, refusing to respond.

"It's called stopping the bad guy and sending him back to jail." Rex then rips the dome off the robot with his smack hands and pulls out Vacoli. As he hands the man off to the grunts, Rex jumps off the machine.

"Now that's what I call kicking crazy butt." Bobo says as the duo walks up to Six, who is standing near the buses watching them be loaded.

"So what energy source could Vacoli be talking about? It's an elementary school." Rex crosses his arms as he come to stop by Six.

"We won't really know until Vacoli is interrogated. Head to the Keep. We're going back." Six then turns to go to the Keep.

"Naw, I was thinking pizza."

"Rex."

"Gah, fine." Slumping his shoulders Rex turns to follow Six only to do a double take.

"Wha..?"

Six eyes his young charge. "What is it?"

"It's just...I thought I just saw a, a mini César."

"A mini César?" Six raises an eyebrow.

"Yeah, a mini César just got on that bus."

"Just a trick of your eyes. Now let's go." With that Six heads to the Keep, followed by a baffled Rex.
