In the darkness, in the black
we see nothing but open space
in the open it is easy to feel alone
yet here we stand, together.
We both live through the heart
of nothing.

You are cold, calculating, a soul of black,
I am the opposite, I am a man of heart
yet we both feel alone.
As we stare at the nothing
as we look together
as we stare at emptiness of space.

Through the vastness of space
we travel, seeing the entire nothing
exploring all the black.
We watch the stars that stand at the heart
we watch worlds that stand together
we see worlds that are alone.

As we travel through the nothing
I watch you, trying to guess what is in your heart.
I know we can get through this together
you haven't been the same, not since you saw your home fall into space.
You say you can do this alone
I know that is a lie; no one should have to face the black

on their own, completely alone.
When we are together
I know you have something to hold on to against the nothing.
You are trying to show that you feel no emotion, only black
but as you watch the ever empty space
I can feel the pain in your heart.

I stood and watched you call for her, your heart
shattered. You always felt alone
even more so when you watched Vulcan turn into empty space,
yet you claimed to feel nothing;
I see pain hiding behind the wall of black.
I am here for you, for the moment and forever we are together.

So here you and I go together, to face the man who turned Vulcan into nothing,
once his ship is turned into empty space, a void of black,
I see your heart open once again, maybe now I have convinced you that you are not alone.
