AN: Right well this is for the PYOP challenge. My mairing was Prentiss/LaMontagne...haha. My Scenario was; Character A catches Character B cheating at cards. Also, because I couldn't help myself, I just had to add my new favourite pairing into this. Haha. Anyway this was inspired by the numerous card nights I've been to with my brothers since I was 8 years old...haha. I really had to stop myself from going off on a tangent about Texas Hold'Em and Blackjack...haha. Please enjoy. CT. :)
Card Tricks
The team had a week off on stand down and decided that it would be a good idea to spend some time together to relax. That was how they had all ended up on JJ and Wills back deck, playing cards.
It was a perfect night for cards and drinking and everyone was happy for the change in scenery. Since the night was being hosted JJ and her fiancé, Penelope had brought Kevin along, prompting Emily to admit she was dating none other then Mick Rawson just so she could bring him along.
So now she was seat around the round deck table between Mick and Penelope both of who just didn't know when to stop talking. It was made worse by the fact that Mick's lovely British accent was mingling with Wills slow Louisiana drawl giving her a headache.
Her headache however didn't stop her from noticing the sly little sideways look Will made to take a peak at Mick's cards. It was funny really to think that Will was trying to cheat at cards. Sure she and Reid counted the cars, that she knew for certain, it was still funny to see Will so blatantly cheating though and in such a juvenile way.
After that round was finished they took a break, to stretch their legs, get more drinks and to get more snacks. Emily stayed seated and proceeded to collect the cards from around the table and from the centre to shuffle them.
'You know you're really obvious when you cheat,' Emily said as Will came back out onto the deck with another beer. He just chuckled at her.
'Yeah I know but if I keep playing with you and Spencer I ain't gonna win anytime soon anyway,' he replied laughingly.
'Ah yes but Spencer is a genius that grew up in Vegas, the odds are against us non genius folk. Still not sure why we let him play with us,' Emily explained.
'That is true. And what about you then? How do you keep winning?'
'Me? I had a boyfriend once who counted cards in Monte Carlo... Taught me a thing or too,' Emily explained with a laugh.
'So you and Spencer both count cards then?' Will asked incredulously.
'Of course,' Emily replied brightly, 'just don't tell the others. And if you ever want to learn how to count cards I'll teach you.'
'I will have to take you up on that offer sometime,' Will said just as the rest of the group exited the house.
What offer?' Spencer asked curiously.
Emily laughed, 'Oh just a card trick.'
