He stands outside the ballroom watching the crowds flood the street. Turning the delicate diamond bracelet over in his hand he ignores the argument taking place not five feet away and concentrates on finding that elusive flash of yellow.

She had bested him tonight and nothing intrigues him like a worthy adversary.

A flash of color has him turning instantly to his left but he just as quickly dismisses it as the hair is a darker gold than the pure sunshine he seeks.

He sighs as the crowd thins and he's forced to admit that she has managed to slip through his fingers. Staring at the slim bracelet again he shifts uncomfortably in the suit he had commandeered from some poor sod that happened to be in the wrong place. It was cheap and tacky but would have to do for now since his had been stolen by him mystery lady. He feels a presence by his side but ignores it as he realizes that the fight has finished and he instinctively knows who is to his left but he is lost in thought.

She caught his attention as soon as she walked through the doors. Her yellow dress stood out above everything else as she glided slowly down the ballroom stairs. She held herself like royalty without even realizing it and it appealed to his inner elitist nature. Then when he had made his way over to her she had been snarky and mysterious and even a little condescending. His respect for her only grew as she led him on a merry chase that ended up with him locked on the roof in only his briefs and socks and he still would have been there now if someone else hadn't thought to use the roof for their amorous pursuit.

And even through his anger he has to acknowledge that she has won that round. But he refuses to lose to some bitch from Chapin.

No matter how hot she is.

His car pulls up and they climb in the open door, settling themselves and riding in a comfortable silence. He continues to run the bracelet, the only clue to her identitiy he has, through his fingers, trying to come up with a plan.

The silence breaks with a soft "Why do you have Jenny Humphrey's bracelet?"

He freezes, stunned.

Slowly a smirk settles on his face as he allows his best friend's words to sink in.

Maybe, just maybe, little Jenny Humphrey is worth of Chuck Bass' attention.

A/N: This is dedicated to XXXJustMeAndMyMusicXXXwho requested that I write a Chuck/Jenny story! I usually don't write in this kind of abstract style but this just wouldn't let me do it any other way. The whole story won't be like this so next chapter should be back to my normal style. Let me know what you think. THANK YOU!
