I'll be fine. Besides, we've got no choiceDisclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
So I decided that I wanted to write what I hope was going through Annabeth's head when she kissed Percy in the Battle of the Labyrinth.
Read and review! Thanks!
Annabeth
Everything about that felt wrong, the entire quest just seemed… unnatural. We were sitting in the classroom talking about what on earth the telekhines were doing.
I nodded, "We have to get out—" as soon as I said it the classroom door exploded with the weird creatures.
He looked at me seriously and said, "Put your cap back on," he gasped. "Get out!"
"What?" I asked shocked. "No! I'm not leaving you," I refused.
He looked conflicted, but then the "do or die" look covered his face, "I've got a plan. I'll distract them. You can use the metal spider-maybe it'll lead you back to Hephaestus. You have to tell him what's going on," he said. Percy and plan have never fit into the sentance.
I knew he was just trying to get me to leave, he never has a plan.
"But you'll be killed," I protest. He looks into my eyes, and the desperation in his eyes breaks me.
"I'll be fine," he says shakily. "Besides, we've got no choice," I knew he was lying, only trying to get me out; but I knew he was right. I had to get Hephaestus and tell him what was happening, but I couldn't just leave him. What if he died and that's what the prophecy was? Losing him would be like I stay much longer we both might die, I know what I have to do: and I'm going to do it, but first... I lean in and kiss him.
"Be careful, Seaweed Brain," I say and slip my Yankee's hat on. He doesn't move for a second, but the sight of the telekhines makes him move very fast.
I look at him one last time before I rush out the destroyed door, I try to memorize everything about this moment. It's too rushed, all I see are his green eyes before I finally run after the spider.
Thanks for reading! I know it was like super short, but I really just wanted to do that one small part.
~Lynn.
