"Escape"

Mara had been waiting for this moment ever since she had decided to leave the village; her home…So none of those whom she loved would never hurt her ever again. A question burned constantly in Mara's mind, Am I doing the right thing? Her hesitation soon was overruled by the thought that made Mara think it was right, it gave her a reason to not return all the items and plead for forgiveness. It doesn't matter, the beasts will kill us all in the end, I just want to live the rest of my life care-free, no worrying about anything else, or anyone else. I don't need people to bring me sorrow, love, anger or joy, I am Mara. I am alone. She kept repeating this is her head as she stalked around the village, stealing food, weapons, and tools, it was that phrase that kept her going insane from guilt. Even so, part of her still thought this was not the right thing. She arrived at the bottom of the sheer cliff her village stood on, congratulating herself since she did not fall, not trip on the step path. (Which she had done many times before) She saw a flicker of light on the edge of the cliff, realizing it was a night guard. Mara froze in place, hoping her animal skin robe would conceal her in the darkness. Mara could see his face now, Ceasar was it? He was a good friend of father… Mara mentally snapped to attention. No! You shall not speak of your father, he is nothing but a drop in the sea of memories you have, Mara! Just a drop! With this she continued focusing on the situation at hand. "Ceasar! Mandelle! The food and weapons! The ropes and hide! Someone, or thing, stole it! Come looks at this!" a voice Mara recognized as Quinten. Ceasar scowled and grumbled "Keep that up and you'll wake the Ice Beasts up!" After that, Quinten remained silent. Mara giggled a bit, then ran off into the woods, as silently as possible. Mara thought (From what she was taught) that she was going southwest. Whatever direction it was, Mara didn't really care. Where she was going? She didn't know.
