Author's Note: This is just a little taste of what I'm working on. It's 2am, I was inspired and I went with it. More will be posted if the feedback is positive so please let me know what you like, what you don't like and anything else!

CHAPTER 1

"Hey, so, this next one's a cover…" The short brunette said before lightly strumming her guitar.

"I never wanted to get you down, or start you up.
I tried to bet on your windsome frown, with sad irish luck.
I never thought you would me up, and take me out
I wanted to feel anything from you, even a handsome doubt

All I wanted was going home
All they gave me was Louisville
I don't want love or conquered Rome
Just your voice and a sleeping pill
Louisville, Louisville"

Ashley had been on tour for almost a month, playing mid sized venues as the opener on the "Girlz Only" tour with Kate Voegele and LIGHTS. The tour had been going great, lots of exposure and a chance to meet her fans and perform live. There was just one thing missing; Spencer.

Obviously due to classes, Spencer couldn't come with Ashley on tour. Since they'd been together they've never been apart this long, well except when Ashley ran away to Europe that one summer, but these were different circumstances.

After thanking the crowd, Ashley unplugged her guitar and made a swift exit off of the stage. It was 9:30 and taking into account the 3 hour time difference, she wanted to try and catch Spencer right as she was going to sleep, so she could say goodnight. She went to the corner of her dressing room and pulled out her I-phone and hit '1' and 'send'

After a few rings she heard a sleepy and slightly raspy voice on the other end answer
"Hey baby" Spencer answered with a yawn
"Hey Spence, did I wake you? I'm soo sorry!" Ashley said apologetically.
"You did, but it's you, so I'll make an exception." Spencer said in a teasing voice
"Oh, well I'm glad to have that honor." Ashley joked back
"You're lucky you're so cute"
"I am lucky, but it's not because of that" Spencer said

At that moment, that very second, Ashley missed Spencer more than she'd missed anything in the world. All she wanted was to be next to Spencer, to hold her and be with her.

It was silent for a moment as Ashley realized how much she missed Spencer.

"How was the show?" Spencer asked
"It was good, mellow, but still fun." Ashley said

"I wish I could be there. I can't believe there are still 2 more weeks before you're back in L.A" Spencer said in a somber voice.

"You have no idea how much it's killing me. I miss you so much Babe." Ashley said

"I miss you more Ash!" Spencer said

"Oh no, we are NOT playing that game again." Ashley said, wiping away a small tear.

Spencer giggled and Ashley smiled a bit. Hearing Spencer laugh was the best cure for homesickness.

"Well I'm gonna let you go to sleep Spence, you have class early." Ashley said

"Gee thanks, I was wondering when I was finally going to get rid of you!" Spencer joked
Ashley laughed.
"I'm in Houston tomorrow, so I'll call you around the same time."

"Sounds good. I'll be up." Spencer promised, even though Ashley knew she'd probably be asleep again. Spencer was not good at staying up past midnight.

"Sure you will." Ashley said sarcastically
"I love you"

"I love you too, Ash."
"Goodnight"

"Goodnight, Babe."

Ashley hung up the phone and sighed. These next two weeks would feel like years.
