I had this idea floating around in my head, and decided to write it down. Weather or not I continue this story really depends on your guys' feedback and if people want to read more, so please comment!
"Kathryn, you don't understand. She's insufferable!" Regina groaned, pacing the small apartment in agitation.
"Come on, she's not that bad. Have you talked to the landlord?" Kathryn asked, pouring herself a glass of wine. Regina turned to face the other woman, a disgruntled look on her face.
"Gold? The little brat is his grand-daughter." The faint noise of muffled rap music made it's way through the thin walls, causing Regina to clench her fists. "Do you hear this?" She exclaimed.
"Regina, calm down!" Kathryn giggled despite herself, "Does she do this often?"
"This," Regina gestured angrily with her hands, "Is just the start of it." She walked over to where the other woman stood, pouring a second glass of wine and raising the crimson liquid to her lips. She took a sip and continued. "She throws parties. Parties in a one bedroom apartment. Last weekend, something hit her ceiling with such force that my coffee fell off the kitchen table. On weeknights she plays classical music at such an obscene volume I've lost the ability to appreciate Beethoven in any circumstance."
"At least she isn't having loud sex?" Kathryn offered, trying not to laugh at the fury decorating her brunette friend's features. Regina covered her eyes with her free hand and took a long gulp of her wine. Kathryn gasped. "Is she having loud sex?"
"I don't even know. I wouldn't put it past her." Regina muttered.
"Okay Gina, have you even met this girl?" Kathryn asked.
"Don't call me Gina, and, thankfully, no I haven't."
"Fine. Regina. You can't expect her to have some sort of sixth sense and just know her uptight neighbour is upstairs sulking every day because she's so noisy. You need to talk to her."
"Is it unreasonable to assume that a woman who lives in an apartment complex should know how one is supposed to behave in an apartment complex?" Regina retorted, crossing her arms over her chest. Kathryn shot her a stern look.
"I have to go pick up David from work, so, as your friend, I'm leaving you with two options. Option one: you go downstairs and ask party girl to stop making so much noise, or option two: you put in some earplugs and stop feeling sorry for yourself. You're a shoe-in to be elected to the House of Representatives this year and you'll be the youngest Congresswoman we've ever had." Regina had to fight not to gawk at her friend's brave display. Regina was not the woman that many people would give attitude to.
"Drive safe, and congratulate David on his promotion for me." Regina mustered a smile.
"I will. Promise me you won't stay up too late working?"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Regina muttered, rolling her eyes.
