Is not, Would not

This meeting was not the purpose behind her taking a part-time job at the Sanzenin amusement park. Certainly, the possibility was in her mind. It could even be considered a factor when she was making the decision. But meeting him was not the only reason for-

As in, how could meeting a classmate, a friend, become an aspiration of hers? She was just leaving her workplace (a stall in a park in a forest in the private grounds of the Sanzenin family) and he was just tending to the garden (in front of a seemingly infinitely large mansion) and they happened to meet, like acquaintances do, completely by chance.

After all, she was a normal schoolgirl who tried her best to enjoy her life. And he was a normal boy who until recently had been targeted by the Yakuza, had saved an outrageously wealthy female, had been saved by her in return, researched ultimate moves in his free time, fought monsters during work hours, dismantled rebellious robo-

She got the point! So? So maybe mundane and extraordinary didn't mix. So maybe she was desperate and maybe slightly delusional. But maybe she had the right and will to try.

Which was, other than chance, why they met. What caused her to walk up to him waving cheerfully and greeting him like a dear friend, hoping for a similar response.

"Nishizawa-san…"

But his answer was just a bit too terse, tone a bit too official, expression a bit too well-practiced.

And yet the words of forever-farewell would not leave his mouth.
