It was a lovely day in Konoha. It was nice and warm, with the sun shining brightly and a few fluffy white clouds drifting lazily across the sky. It was the perfect day to be outside, enjoying the sun's rays. Despite that, the Hokage was sitting in his office, his face set in a frown as he studied the document in front of him. But whenever the commotion outside got near enough for him to hear it, he couldn't help but smile. The playful taunts, cries of outrage and jubilant shouts he could hear from outside could only mean one thing.
Naruto, the village's number one prankster, had struck again.
The blond has been chased by the Chūnin and Jōnin for almost forty minutes, and the Hokage calculated he should be captured any moment now.
Twenty minutes for news of the prank to reach the academy. Fifteen minutes for Umino Iruka to find a teacher to take care of his class. Five minutes for said Chūnin to track down his wayward student.
The Hokage's calculations were proved to be accurate, as they always were, when not two minutes later one of his ANBU informed him that the young boy was on his way back to class with Iruka holding the rope. He also informed him that one of the most influential merchants in the village (and country) was on his way to the tower, looking rather displeased. The Hokage sighed and finished signing the proposal he had been working on, steeling himself for the... meeting... with today's victim. He was glad Naruto was improving in his infiltration, stealth and escape training, but couldn't he practise it in ways that didn't end up with influential merchants coming to him with complaints?
I don't own Naruto or any of the characters in this story.
