I woke up and saw Kensi getting ready to go out with her friends. I thought I'd say something, but then I noticed she didn't notice I was awake so I decided to be silent and watch her. Concentrated, she looked at the mirror and minutily looked after every detail, hair, eyes, skin tone and contours. Sometimes, she would move herself from her reflection and, as someone who has already done that she noticed details that only a woman can notice. She was beautiful as usual, but not as incredible as when we met.

I stayed there, thinking about how long it'd take her to get ready every time she'd go out with me.

I also wondered how many times I forgot to tell her how wonderful she was.

That morning I pretended to be asleep and when she came up to kiss me goodbye I pulled her by surprise to my side of the bed, I looked into her eyes, those gorgeous mismatched eyes, and said, 'Sorry when I forget to tell you how beautiful you are. I'm lucky you picked me. And I love you.' She just smiled, the same perfect smile that I had fell in love with.

This morning, as soon as she left , I missed her so much, and I hadn't felt that for a long time. I realized how lucky I was to have her by my side and how lucky I was to realize it without having to lose her.

After all, we shouldn't take people for granted.
