Let's get this story started! I absolutely love self-inserts so I thought I'd make one myself. In the One Piece universe as well! So, I hope you all enjoy!

Prologue

Hey! My name is... well it used to be Michael Iverson. I am... or is it was? I was sixteen years old when I died.

On accident...

Apparently, I wasn't supposed to die so early in such an ironic way. All the jokes that I made about death and killing myself came back to bite me in my ass all at once and now I've wound up in... purgatory I'm guessing?

Somehow, I had altered fate. Now I'm standing here in this all-white room with two other people and a door off to the side. Every once in a while it opens, and the next person in line enters. What happens next is beyond me. This was unknown territory, after all.

I've still got the same healthy body from before I had eventually met my demise. Kinda tall, but not by much. Kinda muscular, but not fucking meaty like my old teammates on the football team. My skin was of a light brown color, since my dad was black and mom was white. I also have a small, black bush on the top of my head that normal human beings call hair. It was really curly; if I grew it out long enough, it would eventually fall.

I never really felt like testing that theory, though.

I was glad I still had my body, it was something I worked hard to achieve. Going from being a chubby kid who sits around on his ass watching anime all day to an athlete that still sits around and watches anime all day was a blessing.

The two people standing in front of me in this line didn't look too worse for wear either.

The first man had the gaze of a hungry lion, cold and unwavering. His thick eyebrows were furrowed and he held a heavy frown. It looked as if he had seen the worst possible thing on Earth. Because we were all in this room due to accidental death, one could assume he had. He was around six foot four inches and his physique was incredibly bulky to the point of becoming a nuisance. He was the first in line and was just staring straight ahead, waiting until he was up next.

The only female in the room was amazingly gorgeous. She had the face of an angel and the perfect body shape, in my opinion. She sported silky, black hair that stopped right under her lower back, and she had such bright, beautiful eyes to put even the sun's rays to shame. She was truly a goddess just based on her looks.

I wonder if I should say something to her.

She didn't seem all to affected by everything that was going on, much like me and unlike meatboy over there. She was just awaiting her turn.

Whilst I was basking in the glory of such a beauty in front of me, the door had opened yet again. This time, I was able to see inside. There was a single chair floating completely upright in what seemed to be... a galaxy? The man stomped forward and right as he was about to sit his extremely hard gluteus maximus on the chair, the door closed.

After what seemed like around two minutes, the door had opened yet again. Like clockwork, the woman had entered the room that housed only a single chair. Only this time, she turned around to look at me and wink. The door then shut as I saw her hair whip around and gracefully fall on her plump butt. Oh shit, that was something I didn't notice until now.

We were all naked.

For some reason, being in a room with Incredible Hulk and Cleopatra butt naked didn't really affect me all too much. Before, when I was on Earth, just the thought of me being in a room with a girl naked got me hot-headed and blushing. But, here I was with honestly one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen just standing in front of me completely nude and it had no impact on me whatsoever.

I stood, just waiting for the door to open. And finally, after what seemed like an eternity, my wish was granted. I entered the starry room and sat in the wooden chair in the middle of it all. The door closed behind me and I felt a looming presence fade over me. I neither saw nor heard not a single thing but the distant stars. Yet, I knew that something was there.

I wasn't afraid, though.

It felt calming in a sense. I was pretty sure that I knew who this was. Now, I just have to test it.

"God..." I said aloud in a whisper through my shaky voice.

"Yes. I am what you humans refer to as 'God'. No worries, this entire ordeal is not your fault. It seems one of my angels have accidentally taken away your precious life," his voice sounded out through every direction, "I apologize that this had to happen to you. This was not planned in any way. I understand you may be feeling down in any way about leaving your past life behind, but since this situation came about due to an unfortunate chain of events, I have an offer that I know you will not refuse. Michael, you will be reborn into the One Piece Universe as Monkey D. Luffy." He let that last part register in me.

I looked down at my own two feet. Trying to exactly comprehend what I had just heard.

Huh? What did he just say? Reborn? Not only do I get reborn, but into the dangerous world of the One Piece universe?

I thought about it for a few seconds more.

This honestly might not be all too bad...

I get to be Luffy. Monkey D. motherfucking Luffy! Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates! Are you fucking serious?! I get to go searching for the one piece! I get to be a pirate! I get to have so many opportunities to do so many things! This is a better opportunity that I had originally thought!

"Also, because it was my angel's fault that you had to leave your old life in the first place, I will be sending her to accompany you on your journey." God said with a hint of regret in his voice, "If you'd like to meet her then stand up."

Of course, I'd want to meet the person who killed me. But if it was truly an accident then I shouldn't necessarily be mad in the first place, right?

I stood up, waiting patiently. The room that I was in suddenly turned white at literally the blink of my eye. While squinting due to the drastic change in light, all I could assess from the figure standing in front of me was a blue blur. After my eyes had cleared I fully examined the short angel that stood in front of me.

The first thing I noticed was her wavy, sky-blue hair that came down to her thighs. She had it split into a mid-part and let it fall gracefully along her body. Her eyes were also blue but of the deeper ocean-type variety. They were cat-like, warm, and seemed to call for attention. On her bright red cheeks, I noticed that she seemed to have... freckles? Not a lot but not too many either. It was a minuscule detail that added to the overall cuteness of the girl. She also sported somewhat of a sharp jawline that contrasted with her plump, yet small, lips that fit her face perfectly. Her skin was similar to mine, that of a light brownish color that looked soft to the touch.

Her head was cast down in guilt towards her feet which had on high heel, dark blue boots that stopped just above the knee. All white socks with a blue stripe at the top to match her hair lay underneath. Her outfit was a dress that was surprisingly short and flaunted off her assets more than I would have thought an angel to have. At the top, it made a heart-like shape around her breasts then gently hugged her body until it got around to the upper thigh section. At this point, the dress frilled out adding another layer under it.

To go with the whole scheme of blue, her outfit was near the same oceanic color as her eyes. Only the part just above her chest was white to throw off the color overload. The arm warmers that went from her bicep to wrist were also white.

She was so beautiful... the woman I'd just seen nude had nothing on the literal angel standing directly in front of me. I stepped closer about to ask her a few questions when she yanked her head up with her eyes tearing up. She brought her hand up to her chest and took in a breath.

My heart melted in my chest at the sad sight. Apparently, accidentally killing me had really affected her in a negat-

"How could you?!" she asked, making me stare at her in confusion, "How could you have such a basic ass name? Now it's all your fault that I get blamed and have to leave The Great Sanctuary that I've been living in for so long! This is the third time for fuck's sake!"

I stared at her. Letting all that she said be fully comprehended and not misunderstood.

Not only did this little bitch say my name was basic, but she also said that it was my fault that I died in the first place?! And on top of that, she killed two other people?! Was it the people in the other room from before?

Anime tears started streaming down her face, "Now, Mr. God's making me go down to some hell-hole and get dirty on some pirate ship with some little dick boy." She growled, staring harshly at my member on full display.

I found it kinda ironic how she claimed it was a hell- HEY WAIT, "WHO THE FUCK'S GOTTA LITTLE DICK YOU FUCKING MIDGET BITCH!" I snapped back covering Mr. Johnson. That was his nickname.

Her eyes went wide at the insult, "Who's a midget? Well, I'll have you know that I'm just a wee bit taller than the average female angel." She grunted, turning her body around to give me the cold shoulder with a firm 'hmph'. As she swung, her hair whipped around and smacked me in the face.

Do I really have to deal with this bitch? Why? Why did I have to get this one? Why couldn't I get a nice angel that would actually be sorry about killing me and not be a childish mess?

I scoffed, "Are you done? Because I'm trying to be King of the motherfucking Pirates here! I don't have the time for the foolishness. It's either you're in or you're out." She turned around fast with an angry look on her face.

"WHO DO YOU-" she regained her composure with a deep breath, "Alright 'King of the motherfucking Pirates', let me introduce myself. I believe we got off to a bad start."

"A-Alright." I stuttered slightly at the bipolar nature of the angel standing in front of me. Honestly, she really did act like a child.

She gave me a huge toothy grin before going into a deep bow, "My name is Neptunia Aceso. I am seventeen thousand three hundred and sixty-four years old and I will be joining you on your journey through the world known as 'One Piece'. I do not have any say-so on the matter of whether I am going or not. Please do take care of me." she stood back up.

The age was to be expected from a celestial being but that last part made my heart skip a beat. I've had a few girlfriends here and there, but having an absolute beauty ask you to politely take care of you was something new to me altogether.

Even though she's a bitch.

Not letting go of the little dick joke from earlier, I still wanted to get back at the childish angel, "Oh, so you're a cougar and a midget. Cool."

Her face turned bright red, "Listen here you fu-"

"Now now, you two," God's voice rang out yet again, "Neptunia... be nice. You did kill him, after all, so it's the least you could do."

"But..."

"No buts. This is your punishment. Or would you prefer a different punishment? Say, taking a trip downstairs seems like a good enough punishment, don't you think?"

"No sir! I agree with you! Going with... uhh... what was it? Mitchelle Iamdumb? Yea going with him sounds like a fantastic punishment." The angel frantically waved her arms back and forth.

I swear, wait until God leaves; I'm going to torture the hell out of you. Hopefully literally.

"Good. Now, I believe it is time to get this show on the road. Michael... are you ready to be reborn?"

Wait no... I still have so many questions I want to ask. So many things I want to find out about my old world. Time travel, the government's secrets, and even aliens were all things I'd thought about. What was the purpose of human existence? Would he even tell me?

But honestly... does it even matter anymore? It's not like it's my world anymore. Not like I'm living in it and breathing its air. I should just leave all of that in the past. Or at least until I come back here... if I can, anyways.

I nodded, burying the thoughts deep into the back of my head. It's now or never.

"Neptunia... are you ready?" he asked.

"Yes sir..." she said with a bit of sadness in her voice.

"Alright!"

A door appeared in the white room. Once it was opened there was... an Earth. Not like my own, though. I stepped closer to get a better view and after seeing it fully it was clear what I saw. It was Luffy's Earth. There was a long strip of reddish land wrapped completely around the Earth, its edges twisting and curving. A few islands could be seen sprinkled across the two deep oceans that covered up both halves of the globe. I knew trying to see the Grand Line from here was near impossible. Looking around the Earth I noticed something else. There were SEVEN moons! All varying in size with each one treading just outside Earth's atmosphere, floating gracefully.

Neptunia stepped behind me. Standing on her toes so she could see over my shoulder, she then gasped, "Wow! Is that really where we're going?"

For once I didn't sense any hostility in her voice, "Yeah... It is."

A smile crawled to my face and my legs went weak. This was the start of my adventure. This would be the beginning of a long story. I can't wait until I get down there and wreak havoc amongst the world government! Until I- Wait a minute...

"How do we get down there?" I asked either of the two holy beings behind me.

"Jump."

Just as I heard and recognized what he'd said it had been too late. I had been shoved out of the door with force and had started gravitating towards Earth at a high velocity. I turned around to see what had happened. Neptunia was falling a few meters back from me, sticking her tongue out in my direction with two peace signs.

"You fucking bitch! I swear when I get the chance I'm going to kick your-" I yelled out before I realized that I could make no sound. I could also here nothing. Maybe it was because we were in space? I remember reading something similar to that a while back. That sound can't travel without a medium.

Seeing no point in staring down my murderer, I turned back around to look at this new Earth. Watching it slowly ascend upon me. It was honestly a remarkable view. Better than anything I had seen before. Deep, calm oceans that reflected the sun's beautiful rays. High reaching clouds that shielded the red, barren Earth. Tiny islands that dotted the planes of water. All of it was literally breathtaking. Tears started to form in my eyes as I took in the scenery. The only people who could've possibly seen anything remotely like this were astronauts. And those were far and few between.

Wait... am I going to hit the ground at this speed? No... probably not. God isn't just going to try and make up for a truly horrible accident by throwing me from practically the moon and back. I really don't have anything to worry about. At least, I shouldn't.

I turned towards Neptunia and saw that she was sound asleep. I guess while you're an angel, things like this just don't affect you after awhile. I, on the other hand, watched on. Watched as the clouds slowly consumed me. Watched as the ocean drew near to me. Watched the waves crash and fall and collapse within itself.

It truly was an amazing sight to behold.

Then, right as I thought I had seen it all, a sea king leaped out of the water. It was bigger than any animal I'd ever seen. Bigger than any whale or shark. It's long eel-like body stretched and wiggled through the air. It had to be at least two hundred meters in length. The color was of a vivid white and yellow stripe pattern that went all the way throughout its body. It had one singular fin running down the spine of it. My mouth went agape as I had seen what exactly the beast was after.

A humongous bird who's wingspan seemed to be able to cover an entire house in shadow was the unlucky prey of this hungry animal. It snatched the bright pink bird right of the sky and made its descent back towards the water.

I looked away and tried to contemplate exactly what I had just seen.

"This really is the world of One Piece," I said aloud, finally being able to hear my voice again. Though, it was faint as the air that zoomed past my ears basically clouded out most sounds except my own. I didn't even hear the loud splash that was supposed to come from the sea king's descent into the deep ocean. But, none of that mattered to me right now. My own descent into the water was what I was waiting on. I looked down at the water; it had drawn closer. So close I could almost-

*SPLASH*

-touch it...

Chapter 1

Some time had passed. An unmeasurable amount of time had passed. It wasn't a long time by any stretch of the imagination, yet it also wasn't a short one. All I knew was that time had most certainly passed. I lay there, confused at what's happening. Surely, the events I just saw transpire were real. Yet, I didn't know where I was or what was happening. Am I being literally reborn, or was it more of a boom now you're in his body? Only time could tell. And I was fucking bored waiting for time to reach back and place me back within its grasp. And where was that bitch of an angel? Was this all just some elaborate joke made by God himself? Nah, he'd have no reason to do such a thing. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Time had passed and gone yet again. And finally, I saw a light. My escape was within reach.

But then my body started to feel a little tight. A little too tight. Wayyyyy too tight.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! WHY AM I BEING SQUEEZED SO GODDAM HARD?! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!

...

I'm being fucking birthed right now.

YES, it's happening! Finally!

Were it not for the fact I was experiencing extreme discomfort I would have probably celebrated a little harder.

Eventually, after what felt like an hour, my head finally plopped out. Realizing exactly what was happening, I quickly and forcefully tried to open my eyes. But, I couldn't. My eyes felt glued shut. As if there was a heavy weight holding them down. I tried to hear, but my ears felt full of water, drowning out all sound. I really wanted to find that out. But... I couldn't bring myself to even get a clue as to what she looks or even sounds like.

Maybe I'll find out eventually. Just exactly what one of One Piece's greatest mysteries actually is.

Who is Luffy's mother?

Well, if we're being technical, my mother now.

Throughout my struggle to use at least a few of my senses, besides the obvious touch, I had made it out of what I assumed to be the womb.

Fuck why am I shivering so bad, though? Am I cold? I've been in that warm chamber for so long I'd forgotten what actual cold felt like. And I hate the cold with a passion!

After some time, I was eventually wrapped in a blanket and laid down in a bed. It honestly felt pleasant to my baby body.

I tried moving a few limbs, but it was utterly useless in the end. Nothing on my body had listened to me. I was in an actual sense just... a baby. Nothing special. I couldn't even check to see if everything that I had hoped was happening happened. I just sat there in utter boredom yet again.

More heaps of time crossed my path. Years actually. Years of complete fucking boredom. By the time I could start to see again, I was already taken away from my biological mother and taken to Foosha Village. Which didn't really shock me seeing as in the manga that's where we see Luffy's childhood to be. Now that I think about it I don't necessarily remember his childhood all too well. I know that I'll meet Ace and Sabo. But after that do I just leave the village and go on my way? But... then again, a lot of events are going to change.

I was a firm believer in the butterfly effect. I knew for a fact that since I didn't have Luffy's exact personality that things were going to be different this time around. Shit... even with the way I'd been acting so far at age five had been completely different compared to when Luffy was five. The butterfly effect has already taken its course. I'm glad of it, though. I don't just want to relive someone else's life. I want to make my own story. Carve my own path. I'd already come to terms with the fact that I don't have the same body, face, or even dick anymore. That last part had me kinda upset, to be honest. Ya boy was packing in his old life.

I laughed out loud at the thoughts going through my head.

"What's funny Luffy?" a voice called out from the door. It was Makino. My big sister to put it into terms. She was carrying a basket of clothes out of her room.

Makino was a pretty, young lady. She was tall compared to most women in the village and everyone knew her by the characteristical polka-dot bandanna she had tied around her black hair. She often wore dresses of varying colors throughout her time basically raising me. The best feature about her, in my opinion, were her eyes, though. They were caring, yet stern when she got down to the nitty-gritty of her bar. They shined whenever she smiled and glistened slightly when she was sad; which was rare. She was the only person who had been there for me all my life. I loved her as if she were a part of my family. In my eyes, she was. Her and my grandfather, Garp, but he was an entirely different subject.

I looked up to meet her eyes, "Ahhh nothing! Just an inside joke!" I lied through my teeth. "A-Anyways where are you coming from?"

A smile came across her face, "Actually I was just coming to get you! There's a girl your age in the bar for you."

A girl? I don't know of any girls in the village my age. Except for maybe Sasa, but I hate that annoying little bi-

My train of thought was momentarily cut off. I walked out of the back of the bar with Makino to notice some very, very familiar hair. Of a sky-blue color. Upon seeing it I immediately knew who it was and why she was here. As soon as I caught sight of those deep, ocean blue eyes I had confirmed my theory.

"Neptunia," I said.

"Michael?" she asked with a chipper voice. I nodded in silence, waiting to see what she was going to do. Her dress was a little beat up and damp. Her eyes made it seem like she wanted to cry. To my complete and utter surprise, she jumped on top of me and gave me a deathly crushing hug, "Oh my graceful god! It was so scary out there at sea! I didn't know where I was going! I was sailing out looking for the island you were supposed to be on when a giant, green fish came literally out of nowhere and ate my entire ship! I kept swimming hoping it wouldn't literally bite me in my ass! But, then I fell into a whirlpool and almost drowned! I washed up onto shore and this old, short, creepy man tried to take me off somewhere! I was so scared!"

I listened to her whole story, still being squished by this angel's strength. She had literally gone through hell. Well, not literally, but... or maybe she has? I don't know; I'll ask her next time I get the chance.

I wanted to comfort her but I couldn't correctly find the words. Should I be kind and sooth the poor, fifty-thousand and something year old, or should I just give her a cold-hearted 'that's what you get'? After all, this is the same bitch of an angel from five years ago.

Letting bygones be bygones, I decided to go with the former, "Neptunia, it's okay now. That scary, little monster won't be able to reach you from here." I said with a slight tease.

She glared at me for poking fun at her literal possible death. Then her eyes went big as if she had realized something, "If you wouldn't have died in the first place, none of this wouldn't even be happening to me... So this is all YOUR fault!" she started beating my chest while still sitting on top of me.

"Now, calm down you two. No fighting in the bar." Makino chuckled at my suffering. She grabbed Neptunia by her dress's collar and lifted her off of me, holding her back.

I was grateful. Neptunia, on the other hand, started to pout, "Bu-But he was the one who caused this!"

"I don't know what game you two seem to be playing but it sounds like fun! Luffy, how about you go outside and do it?" Makino suggested but made it sound like more of a command. She dropped Neptunia and as soon as I locked eyes with the midget angel I knew exactly what to do.

RUN

I bolted out of the saloon doors and made my way fast towards the port. My swimming abilities were top notch. I'd been living on an island since basically birth so it was basically second nature to me. Hey... I might not even eat a devil fruit and become something akin to Sanji or Zoro.

To my surprise, Neptunia was quick in tow; she was following me stride for stride. How could she keep up with me?

Running along the dirt path was something I tried to make a habit of every day. Being in shape was key to being able to conquer the seas, and since in my old life I was accustomed to hard work, this was basically no big deal to me. What was a big deal was that this thousand something-year-old woman trapped in a little girl's body was able to keep up with me easily.

"Come back here you little shit! I'm not finished with you!" she howled behind me. I never looked back. Instead, I decided to make a sharp turn at one of the upcoming houses and break out into the woods. But, as soon as I went around the corner I bumped into a heavy figure standing what felt like miles above me. Only a few people I knew were that tall in Foosha Village. Old Man Jenkins and...

"Granddad?" I looked up quizzically, forgetting all the reason of why I was running in the first place.

The tall, muscular man squatted down to my level with his elbows on his knees. I saw a big ear to ear smile behind a policeman like mustache and beard.

"Granddad! Why- OOF!" my reunion with my pops was cut off momentarily from the lack of oxygen in my lungs. Angel-mc-bitch-face came from behind and tackled me to the ground. Hard.

"I finally caught you! Now I'm going to-" Neptunia stopped and looked up to my grandfather who had a confused look on his face. She stood up and gave him a huge smile, "Hey! My name's Neptunia! This here is my friend Luffy! We were just playing so there's nothing to be worried about." I stared at the bipolar angel until I saw my grandfather turn back towards me.

"OHHHHH SO LUFFY HERE WAS GETTING BEATEN BY A GIRL IN A GAME?! A FUTURE MARINE CAPTAIN SHOULDN'T BE BEATEN BY ANYONE! YOU KNOW, I WAS JUST ABOUT TO TAKE YOU OUT TO THE FOREST WITH ME SO I CAN TOUGHEN YOU UP A BIT, BUT SINCE YOU WANNA LOSE TO A GIRL..." an evil smile crossed, "I'll just have to leave you out there to fend for yourself."

Oh shit. Oh shit, oh fuck. Shitfucktittydamfuck me right in my ass, FUCCKKKKK! NOOOOOO! There were literally horror stories about the places that Garp sent Luffy to train and get tough. I didn't want to go through this too. I just wanted to cruise on by until I finally turned seventeen and then went on my way. But, no! This bitch always puts me deeper into a fucking shithole!

I stared at granddad for a little while longer. The eagerness in his eyes was shining through and I knew that no matter what I was going to say, I wasn't going to change his mind on the matter. I'm just going to have to accept my fate.

"Okay pops," I said in a stale manner. Garp looked at me with an eyebrow raised.

"Oh, so Foosha Village's forest would be too easy for you, huh? Well, in that case, I'll just take you to the jungle instead!" he said with a cackling laugh.

"What?! No please! The forest is enough!" I pleaded. I didn't want to go to the forest. But, I really didn't wanna go to the jungle of all places. The jungle housed leopards and apes and a whole assortment of deadly bugs! That's basically killing me!

"Nope, it's set in stone! We head out tomorrow." he grabbed me by the top of my shirt and dragged me back to Makino's bar. I glanced at Neptunia who had a dumb-founded look on her face. I gave her a scowl that said 'you'd better come with me bitch'.

XxXxX

I went to sleep that night and expected to be awoken by the sound of a screaming old man telling me to hurry to the ship. Instead, I was awoken to the sounds of birds cawing and apes howling. I sat up, looking in every direction.

Fucking granddad put me in the forest while I was sleep!

I stood up and took notice of my surroundings. I was in a clearing. There were many huge footprints that looked like monkey feet littered across the ground. Maybe it was a nest. If so, I've got to go.

Walking forward I saw a piece of paper on the ground. I picked it up and looked over it. It was written in basic kanji. Enough that I could read it.

'Luffy, I've left you in the direct center of the jungle. You've got a week to make it to the shore of this island! Your friend wanted to go with you so make sure you don't lose to her or anyone else anymore or you'll be coming here more often! Who knows, maybe she'll make a fine Marine as well!'

I basically heard his bolstering laughter through the note. After I finished reading the letter I looked around for the blue-haired demon. She was sleeping on the ground, all dirty and beat up. I walked up to her and squatted down to get ready to wake her up when I noticed something weird.

There was a white, luminescent diamond on her forehead.

It was about the size of a nickel and it glowed brighter and darker ever so often. It laid in the center and seemed to be of a futuristic design.

I'd never seen anything like it on a person before. What was it? I know it hadn't been there before or else I would've already noticed it. Was it an angel thing? Does it only come out when she sleeps? I had a lot of questions I wanted to ask but now wasn't the right time. Not in the middle of this dangerous jungle.

I decided to wake her up the best way I knew possible. It had one hundred percent success rate.

"WAKE THE FUCK UP!" I yelled.

Her body shot up and she immediately took a fighting position. Her right arm shot out, grabbed me, and flipped me to the other side of her body all in one fell swoop.

"So, you've come back for- huh? Michael? What are you doing?" she asked standing up with her hands on her hips. The mark on her forehead now gone.

I laid there still confused at what just happened.

Did she just flip me? Not only did she flip me but she also threw me into the air and slammed me down all at once with one arm. It was clear, with the running and this situation now, that this was no ordinary girl. She was strong. And fast. I hadn't really expected her to be of any help on my adventure but perhaps I was wrong. Maybe she'll be the key to my success if I play my cards right. After all, I'm pretty sure I won't be having the absurd amount of luck that Luffy had when he went adventuring.

"Hello! Earth to Michael?!" she waved a hand in front of my face, "Why did you do that? You could've just been a wee bit gentler, idiot!"

"You're strong... and really fast. How did you get like that?" I stood up to meet her gaze.

"Well, you think that I just sat on my ass all day while I was in heaven?" she asked rhetorically, "I used to be a part of Heaven's Armed Forces. I was one of the leading generals and I had a fleet of over two thousand angels." she said as if it were just an everyday occurrence to her.

Yeah... she's going to be a lot of help on this adventure. Especially when I get my own fleet of people going.

Just as I was about to bombard her with questions about her time in Heaven, I heard a sharp shriek that signified the end to our friendly little chat in the middle of a dangerous jungle. I turned to see an orangutan reaching six feet up howling at the top of its lungs and beating its chest with its lanky arms. What I assumed to be its brothers then joined the fray and started howling as well.

Neptunia ran off, as did I. Neither of us wanted to see just what the orangutans were about to do. We weren't even thinking. Well... at least I wasn't. I was just running. Running with everything I could. Basically going off of instinct at this point. This was actually a dangerous situation. I jumped through the slippery jungle's obstacles like I was a pro in American Ninja Warrior. I bounced off of tree branches and moved with haste through hanging leaves and vines. The shrubs on the ground nearly tripped me up but I managed to catch myself and continue running. Neptunia was far ahead of me. Only stopping ever so often to check back on me. At this point, I knew for a fact that earlier she had let me stay directly in front of her when she was chasing me.

This body, though, was amazing. At only five years old I could run the speed that I used to and I was just as near as sturdy, if not more. Strength was another thing. My stamina was horrible; I couldn't run nearly as much as I used to. As such, I started to slug behind. The orangutans were catching up via trees and I just couldn't bring myself to continue onward. My vision started to go blank and I felt agonizing pain in my abdomen that worsened with each step. I blanked out for a few seconds before I felt all pain be relieved from me. My vision started to come back and I realized exactly what was happening.

Neptunia had come back for me, threw me on her back, and took off full speed in a random direction. Clearly out running and outlasting the beasts behind her. I was thankful... and tired. Really... really... tired.

...

"WAKE THE FUCK UP!"

I sat up in a hurry, scampering away from where the noise had come from when realization hit me, "You little-"

"Huh, what was that? Did I hear you say, 'Thank you so much Neptunia for saving my life back there! I wouldn't know what I'd do without you!'?" She looked at me with an expecting look.

I let all of the memories of the events that had just occurred flow back to me. The orangutans, the bouncing around, the almost dying and getting saved by an angel. All of it. Wait...

"Hahahaha! That's funny!" I laughed off to myself, noticing something very peculiar.

"What's funny bitch? The fact that you can't save your own ass?" she taunted.

"No, it's just... you're like my guardian angel." the smirk on her face fell, "You're an angel and you stay with me through everything. You save me from trouble when I desperately need it, even though you don't have to." I looked up to her from the position I was sitting in. I gave her a huge ear to ear smile, "Thanks, Neptunia."

She turned around trying to hide her face from the obvious blushing, "Whatever, it's not like I did it for you bitch."

I laughed again. Both at the play of events and the fact that this angel is a huge ass tsundere.

Silence fell upon us in the jungle. Not an awkward one, though. More of a comforting one. It was relaxing. After a few minutes of it, my stomach growled, signifying my next plan of action.

"Alright, now where do we find food?" I asked scratching the back of my neck.

She looked at me with a smile, "You've got a lot to learn." she said while shaking her head.
