Murder on Halloween
Chapter One
Today is going to be a great day. A day that everyone will be in a good mood, and be nice. Yeah that's not happening. Everyone in Marshalltown is always rude. People swear, throw things, break things, shoot guns, everything. On Saturday, it's Halloween. Where something happens only one person. Something bad. It might be like falling into a hole or being robbed.
Well anyways, my name is Jack Johnson. I am sixteen years old and live with my Aunt Lorene. She took me in when my parents died from a plane crash with 103 other people. Most of them died in the hospital after suffering major injuries. I was three when that happened.
Anyways I got a lot on my mind. I have to study for the history final on Tuesday, then I have to work at the bakery that Lorene owns. Then there is this one girl that I really like. Her name is Annie. She is really nice. She also works at the bakery. It's hard to talk to her most of the time. Most of the time I dream off into space until she keeps saying my name over and over again until she gets my attention back. You honestly don't want to know what I was dreaming about.
Chapter Two
Today is Monday, that means it is only one day until the history final. I am sitting on the couch waiting for the bus to finally show up so I can sit right behind Annie. I know that sounds creepy but it's not like I am going to smell her hair or anything.
I heard the screeching of the tires from the bus and yelled to Lorene, "The bus is here! I am leaving now!" "Okay!" she said while waving in the kitchen doorway. I left out the door before it was getting ready to leave without me. It has done that before.
Annie was in her usual spot on the bus next to her best friend Meghan. They were talking about the usual girl stuff and how there was at least 5 boys they would go out with. They do this every morning, and every time I here Annie's 5 one of them aren't me. But then Luke, my best friend, stops me from gazing off into space again. "Dude stop dreaming that you are on her list of 5!" "Sorry!" I said.
Then something happened.
