In Search of a Lotus

9 years after Hogwarts graduation, Cho Chang is a bright, beautiful young woman with a succesful career at the Department of Mysteries. But recently, she has become close to someone. This forces her to let old wounds heal- and to find her lotus.

1. Author's Notes O' Doom

This little fanfic was born of a random plotbunny, which in turn came from my bazillionth reading of Goblet of Fire. I have always liked Cho Chang as a character, and been somewhat curious about her- plus, this gives me the chance to write about someone from my chosen House, Ravenclaw.

The Legend of the Lotus Princess came completely out of my imagination, although it was probably influenced by many old Chinese folktales lurking in my brain. I did do some research about the appearance and symbolism of the lotus flower (for fantastic paintings of lotus blooms, I encourage you to visit www.chinesepaintings.com- it's snazzy beyond all belief). If anyone has any lotus stories or information to share, I'd love to have them emailed to me.
