In all of her eight years of life, Sakura Haruno had never wanted candy more than ever. And there is was, in all its glory, sitting eyelevel on a rack. All she had to do was reach out for it and—

Her mother stopped her before she could even try, pulling her arm along to go. She watched some boy get it—lucky him—and run in front of the two to his mother. When the candy was rung up, he turned and gave it to Sakura.

"I saw you wanted this." She didn't take it at first, a bit of shock stopping her, but he pushed the bar into her hands. "You're Sakura, right? I'm Sasuke. We're in the same class together."

He said goodbye and left with his mother.
