This is my first crossover fic so pleeeeeeease be nice to it. I honestly don't even know where all my ideas come from now a days but I feel like this one is a good one. Reviews are greatly appreciated!
Soundwave's optics flew open, blinking rapidly from the searing light that had invaded his vision. He tried raising his servo to block it, but found he couldn't move. Squeezing his optics shut, he was disturbed by the fact that they felt more… fleshy. Slowly, painstakingly slowly, feeling seeped back into his limbs, and soon he could twitch his digits. Shoving the pain away from his consciousness, he forced himself to sit up, his helm swimming violently as he stood, then falling to his knees from the still present pain that refused to recede. Finally, he opened his optics, only for his mouth to fall open as well in a silent scream. His servos were gone, replaced by… thicker, gloved versions. He fell back onto his aft, studying them in slight panic as he shakily turned them over and palm up again. With a start he realized- oh Primus no. This could not be happening.
He had somehow, some way, turned human.
His hands flew to his face, only to realize there was a thick visor preventing him from doing so. For a split second, he wondered how to remove it, when it shifted upwards and disappeared, startling him. It was like it had transformed out of his view, or if it had simply morphed into the collar of his suit. The suit brought even more questions and surprise. His whole slender Cybertronian build that he had modified himself was gone, replaced by a black suit/armor that didn't look the least bit protective in his eye. The only thing that seemed familiar was the deep violet color of the lights adorning his suit. They weren't symmetrical in any way, but were quite unique and flashy. His eyes roamed his new body, his human body, analyzing the information like he had always done. Then, pure, fiery panic gripped his Spar- heart. Where was Laserbeak? She wasn't attached to his torso like usual. His head jerked from side to side, searching for his beloved mini-con. Finally his panicked eyes laid on a wide disc, similar in color to his suit. Gingerly, he picked it up with a shaky hand. Turning it over in his new hands, he noted that it had 'living life lines' pulsing in a directional flow. One diameter was clockwise, while another was counterclockwise. It was made of some sort of glass and steel, with the light not making a complete circle around the disc. Soundwave suddenly had the thought to put it on his back, where his shoulder blades rested. Tentatively, he reached back and connected it with the equipment jutting out of his suit. Almost immediately he was bombarded with memories, distant and new. It was from Laserbeak's point of view. Zipping through Earth's atmosphere, streaming through the clouds and sky. Capturing Agent Fowler from his military helicopter. Being shot down by the Jackhammer, and having the Autobot medic meddle with her systems, placing an active grenade in her casing. Doing missions for both her Masters, always coming back successful. Soundwave blinked, and the memories disappeared. It had only been a second, but to the Surveillance Chief it had felt like hours. With a horrible, dreaded, sinking feeling, Soundwave realized that the disc was Laserbeak. His most adored, loyal, perfect mini-con had turned into a disc. A disc. He grabbed it- her- from his back, only to find another disc in his hand. One, he realized, was for his memories and such, and the other was for Laserbeak. Holding one in each hand, the reality of his mini-con being practically offline was heartbreaking. Suddenly, his vision blurred, his eyes stinging. Setting the discs down, he hesitantly brought his fingers to his eyes. Wiping them gently, he was startled to see some sort of liquid smeared on his fingers. Is this… is this what humans called crying? Abruptly he stood up, the visor morphing completely over his face again. Returning Laserbeak and his disc to his back, he decided it was high time to figure out where he had triple Bridged himself to and if anyone else was here as well.
