Tsunami.
Ha-ha, get it?
Tsu-Nami.
It's like my name. Like I'm a horrible disaster of sorts.
It's clever, you see.
It all started way back when…
"Ugh, Naminé, hurry up! I don't have all day!"
"Coming, Kai…" I said, even though really wasn't. I was sitting on my bed, cross-legged, with my laptop in front of me.
She wanted me to go see some dumb movie or something, but really, no matter how many times I told her I didn't want to, she wouldn't listen. This occasionally lead to fights. We always made up.
Well, mostly.
Except this time, and really it was all my fault. Maybe it's because I'm stupid and ugly and will never have any real friends.
Or maybe it's because people change.
Either way, it's still my fault. This time, for real.
"Naminé!" she shouted from my kitchen. "I'm already here! You can't even try to blow me off anymore!"
I said nothing. She knew I didn't want to see… whatever she had told me we were going to see.
Suddenly, she stormed into my room, nearly ripping the door of the hinges. "What the fuck is your problem?" I demanded. "I already told you I didn't want to see that goddamn movie, so just cool it. I'll do something else with you… just not this."
"Who else am I supposed to go with?" she asked, suddenly sounding more like a small child than an actual fifteen-year-old. "Anybody!" I cried. "Just not me!"
She looked away, biting her lip. "Fine. Just… fine."
And that, readers, was the end of the entire fucking world right there. Hand me a gun or something, because I swear, when she left, my soul seeped out of my eyeballs.
