Chapter One: First Impressions
Sabu walked along the sidewalk in the city pulling his cart behind him yelling "fresh seeds for sale!". Sabu was a grey field hamster with a white spot under his nose. His nose was bright red, and had black fur around one eye that looked like an eye patch. And he had rips, like bosses, in both ears. Sabu had known the ham hams for a little while. When Hamtaro had got himself lost, Sabu asked his friend Franswas, a dove, to take him home. He had been friends with the ham hams ever since. Sabu continued walking, and yelling "come get your fresh seeds!" like usual. As Sabu was walking by an alleyway he heard a scream coming from its depths. "Heke?" he said and looked in the alley. Just then a young girl hamster came running from out of the alley. She wasn't looking where she was going so she ran into Sabu sending them both tumbling backwards. "Ouchchichi!" said Sabu as the two hamsters slammed into the ground. When they both sat up the helpless hamsters were staring into the eyes of a hungry black cat. Sabu froze in terror, and without thinking he threw an acorn at the cat. But lucky for Sabu, it hit the cat in the eye. The cat yowled and stepped back in surprise and pain, it also closed its eyes, trying to stop the pain that the acorn inflicted. In doing so it gave just the right amount of time for Sabu and the girl hamster time to escape. He grabbed the girl by the arm and ran behind a building where the cat would be unable to get to them. Sabu looked at the girl who was panting and out of breath and asked, "are you okay?" in a concerned voice. The girl looked up at him and said, "yeah... I'm fine." She said as she at down to rest. "So... what's your name?" "I'm.... Hannah. Who are you?" She said. Hannah was a small hamster she was white with brown hair and a yellow ribbon tied around her tail. Sabu looked over at her and said, "They call me Sabu. I'm a field hamster," he told her. He paused and then asked, "Where are you going?" she stood up and then said, "I'm going to visit my friends. That was very fast thinking to through that acorn at that cat." she added. "Well, I couldn't let that that cat eat us could I?" "Hehe you do have a point,"
"Who are your friends?" Sabu asked out of the blue
"They are the ham hams at the Ham Ham Clubhouse. They live in this area, have you ever met them?"
"Oh, yeah, they're pretty good friends of mine, and ya know what? I think it's about time I pay them a visit!"
"Cool! Then lets go!" A big grin spread across Hannah's face, as they started walking to the Ham Ham Clubhouse together.
