Accio, Beautiful Woman

"Mr, Malfoy! Please, will you listen?"

Lucius gave no sign that he had even heard Professor Binns as he scribbled another spell onto the parchment in front of him.

"Mr Malfoy!"

"He's taking notes, Professor," came a reply from somewhere to his right. Lucius thought it might have been Bellatrix Black.

"No –"

A snigger erupted from the corner where Lucius was still scribbling away, and then he glanced up to look at the History of Magic teacher. "Please, carry on about the Goblin Rebellion, sir," he said. "I was fascinated."

Appearing slightly surprised that Lucius had actually been listening (or so he thought) Professor Binns continued to talk to the sleepy class about what had happened in the seventeenth century. After a moment, Lucius returned to what he was doing.

Rodolphus, who was sitting beside him, sniggered at the crude spell he had just written on the parchment. "It'll never work," he said.

"It might."

"I'd like to see you try."

"Mr Malfoy!"

They both looked up to where Professor Binns was standing behind his desk, his transparent eyes glaring right at them.

"Just discussing the Rebellion, Professor," Lucius said, and looked down as if taking notes. Rodolphus chuckled again beside him.

The rest of the class continued slowly, and by the time they were finally able to exit the hell-hole, Lucius and Rodolphus were giggling like school girls as they wound their way through the corridors for the next class.

"Try it now," Rodolphus suggested after a moment.

"What?"

Rodolphus set his school bag on the floor, perching himself on a wide window sill. "Try it now," he repeated. "I'm curious to know if this will actually work."

Despite being sixth years who were planning on becoming Death Eaters over the summer, both were certainly not behaving like it in that given moment.

Grinning, Lucius also dumped his bag on the ground and removed his wand from the inside pocket of his robe. He cleared his throat and with a quick flick of his wand, he said, "Accio, beautiful woman."

Rodolphus waited but a moment before he started howling with laughter, almost falling from the window sill in the process.

"You… you… thought that… would… a-actually work!" he cried, tears running down his cheeks.

Lucius' eyes narrowed. "I thought it would work as much as you thought," he retorted, stuffing his wand away again.

Rodolphus continued to laugh, and he didn't even notice when a blonde-haired fourth year rounded the corner with a group of fellow Slytherins.

Lucius' jaw almost hit the ground, bewildered. Of course, it was just a coincidence. It had to be. He had said the spell as a joke. She had just been in the right place at the right time.

But he couldn't help but stare. Her blonde hair matched his own, and her eyes danced as one of her friends said something funny. She was simply beautiful, and as she walked by, he could only stare after her.

Rodolphus sobered as he, too, watched on, and when the girls had gone, he clapped his friend on the back. "Who would have guessed," he said. "Lucius Malfoy actually managed to summon a beautiful woman."

But Lucius didn't respond. His mind had already captured her beauty, and he was going to frame that image forever.
