Takes place after KH1, but before the end of KH2 when Sora and Riku meet. Can be taken as Romance or Friendship.
Sora's POV:
Its dark, I can't see anything. Wait I see someone up ahead. I start running, maybe I finally found someone in this darkenss. I see a figure ahead, the image is closer as I keep running.
Its Riku. It's really Riku!
I can't believe that I actually found him after all this time, I feel a bubble of happiness in my heart.
I kept running, determined to catch him, to make him see that I need him, and that I won't go home to the Islands without him. He needs to understand how I truly feel. My feet are aching and I can't catch my breath but I keep running.
Why isn't he getting any closer?
I feel like I've been running for a long time but he never gets any closer, and I think he's walking away from me. All I see is his back and long silver hair. It has gotten longer since the last time I saw him. I can't believe its already been a year since I locked him in Kingdom Hearts, but somehow he got out. I'm glad for that.
No, he's getting farther and farther away, "Wait! Wait Riku! Don't leave me behind! Wait for ME!" somehow my voice projected my thoughts. But apparently he didn't hear me since he keeps walking. Wait, I think he did hear me, he stopped walking and turned around. I can see him clearly now, apparently the year has been kind to him, he's taller than I remember, and his hair is longer, it covers his eyes and its grown past his shoulders. It looks good on him.
I can almost touch him, he's so close, I can almost feel his hand in mine.
As I started to reach out, the darkness surrounded me.
No, this can't be happening, not when I'm so close.
Its like that night on the Island's all over again, I keep reaching, stretching out to the image of Riku, but I just can't reach him. The darkness is swallowing me; it's suffocating me, pulling me into the bottomless abyss. "RIKU!" was all I was able to shout before I'm completely swallowed. I'm falling, falling deeper into the darkness. The image of Riku dances before my eyes, 'Riku, I'm sorry I wasn't able to rescue you' was my last thought before I lost consciousness.
"sora, sora, SORA!" someone is yelling, who's yelling, it sounds familiar but I can't place it. I feel someone shaking me, and another voice yelling at me to wake up. I open my eyes, I see Donald and Goofy staring at me. I guess it was them that pulled me out of the darkness. Wait darkness, RIKU! "Where's Riku?" I asked them.
They both gave me looks of pity, and replied "He was locked in Kingdom Hearts remember Sora?" Ah, that's right, I'm continuing my journey with Donald and Goofy, searching for a way to get Riku and King Mickey out from Kingdom Hearts. "Are you okay Sora, you looked like you were having a bad dream" Goofy asked.
I said that I was fine, and that I was sorry to disturb them. I told them that I would be fine and that they should get back to sleep. When they went back to sleep, I took a walk, knowing that I wouldn't be able to sleep for the rest of the night.
I kept walking till I reached the ocean. I sat down on the sand, took off my shoes and just starred out towards the ocean. The sea was peaceful, and the moon shining above made the scene more beautiful. Remembering my dream, I summoned my keyblade Oblivion.
Tolding it out infront of me, so that I see the entire keyblade, I swore that I would find riku, "No matter how long it takes, I will find you Riku, I promise" somehow my thoughts became words that my voice carried.
Just as I finished speaking, the wind blew past me and a voice whispered "I know you will, I'll be waiting, Sora."
