Prompt: Parting
"Parting is such sweet sorrow."
Lindsay shook her head, "We're not parting, moron. You're going to stay at Don's place tonight because we're getting married tomorrow."
"So, I should be here with you."
"It was your mother that insisted that we stay apart the night before we got married. She wants us to appreciate our wedding night. I think she might be in denial and pretending we've never had sex."
"That's what mom's are supposed to do. Can't we just tell her I stayed at Don's apartment and really I could stay here in my bed with my soon to be bride."
Lindsay smiled, but shook her head, "Stella's going to be here soon, we have a few things to finish, and then she's going to spend the night. You need to go."
"But…"
"Go, Danny, just think of how awesome the sex will be tomorrow night."
"That's like…forever, its twenty-four hours without you. I can't make it."
"You can and you will," she said, shoving him toward the door, "Goodnight."
"You're mean," he said, a last ditch effort, "Don't you love me?"
"Goodnight Daniel," she said, as she shut the door in his face.

Somewhere around eleven, she and Stella finished all the last minute details and she went to bed.
She was tossing and turning by 11:30 and by midnight she was wide awake, glaring at the ceiling. She grabbed her cell phone and pressed speed dial 1.
"Hello, Montana, miss me yet?"
"I can't sleep you asshole. I'm going to be puffy and ugly tomorrow because of you and all your sad parting crap."
She heard a chuckle over the phone, "So you do miss me?"
She shrugged, even though she knew he could not see it, "I didn't really realize until I got into bed, but we haven't spent a night apart in a long, long time. You even came with me to Montana last month. This bed is gigantic all of a sudden."
"I could come over and sleep with you."
"No," she said, "it's against the rules."
"Well, technically if I come over and you go to sleep and then I leave we aren't really spending the night together."
"No, Danny."
Danny sighed, "Okay…can we keep our phone call going all night. At least I can hear you breathe, pretend you're here."
Lindsay's eyes filled with tears that she forced back down, "I really love you, Danny Messer."
"I love you Lindsay hours from becoming Messer."
"Will you talk to me until I fall asleep?"
"Of course baby. What should I talk about?"
"Tell me about our amazing honeymoon in Italy."
"Well, we're going to do everything, but first, first we're going to go on a gondola ride…" Danny's voice continued, as Lindsay finally drifted off to sleep.
