Sebastian Darke

Prince of teachers.

The ambush wouldn't last long, not with Cornelius, Max and Queen Kerin fighting alongside Sebastian. It had been at least a year since he last saw Queen Kerin and at that time she was princess and under threat by her uncle, the old King Septimus but no more was he alive. Last time they were present with each other they were in love, but a year had past and now Sebastian's love for her had died away like a fire in the rain. She had come back recently so that he could teach her son, Prince Aland the one year old child, how to read and write. He had gracefully accepted after the offer of eight crowns every day! Soon he would be bathing in a glowing mass of golden riches. Sebastian's shoulder jerked as he sliced a slightly angled sword through the mail plate of a Brigand. He didn't greatly miss the ale that he had been forced to drink in the Brigand bar that they had wangled the room from. Bodies were scattered around them like crimson dominoes. Queen Kerin sliced the head from the last Brigands shoulders with one clean blow.

"That should do it." Purred Kerin as she approached the wagon that read the letters, Sebastian Darke prince of Teachers, though the name had clearly been painted over something. The castle was shining its marble shell in the distance, they were close now. The stony rough path was leading its way towards the hustle and bustle of the castle.

"So when do I get my dinner?" Snorted Max as he harnessed himself onto the straps of the wagon.

"When we get to the castle." Sebastian muttered.

"Ungrateful, I'm starving!" Max sniffed.

"And? So are all of us." Demanded Sebastian.

"Both of you! Shut-up, we're almost there, look they're opening the gates for us now!" Silenced Cornelius.

The huge brass gates creaked open as the wagon chugged through them the wooden wheels balancing on the earthy soil.
