Night was thick outside the window, but in Tomoe Mami's house the lights burned high. A thumping beat was spilling from the twin speakers of her mobile device, drowning out the constant sound of clattering glass and clicking high heels. Laughter erupted in high-pitched gushes, giddy with alcohol and good company. Only Madoka sat outside of the party.
Her cheeks were rosy with embarrassment and a thick layer of blusher. Her eyes darted with restrained discomfort. Sayaka and Kyoko were entranced by the music and the broad palette of makeup and accessories that Mami had laid out. With one hand they decorated each other's cheeks with glittering studs and with the other they crossed arms to drink again, one always daring the other. Mami herself continued to smile pleasantly, focused on her efforts to cover Homura's perfect pale skin in glitter.
It had all been fun for Madoka until they'd agreed to take their new looks outside. Kyoko knew of a dance club where a couple of good looking girls would definitely get in for free. Once Madoka had realized exactly what this meant she knew they'd taken it too far. Their skirts were too short, their makeup too showy; there was one too many buttons of Sayaka's blouse that were left undone... She tried to cover her face with her hands but the stiff false eyelashes got in the way. There was a flash of skin, the generous curvature of her childhood friend's supple breast. Finally it was too much to remain silent.
"Y-You all look like… like a bunch of crumpets!" she asserted in dismay, her voice squeaking loudly until her entire face was red. Sayaka and Kyoko stared in shock. Mami's smile only grew wider.
"I think you mean strumpets, Madoka-chan…"
Kyoko burst into peels of raucous cackling, Sayaka hanging off of her arm and beginning to giggle in time. Even Homura was trying to hide her mirth and failing. Madoka dissolved into strangled cries of humiliation and she was only silenced when the other girls surrounded her in an all-consuming hug.
