"If you honestly expect me to believe that, you're insane!" Taylor yelled at Chad.
"It's the truth! You really think I would be avoiding you? Coach Bolton has us really worked up for the next game!" Chad told her.
"I'm not stupid. I may not know anything about basketball, but I'm positive they don't have practices on Friday nights! Now, WHERE WERE YOU?" She screamed as a tear streaked down her cheek.
Chad didn't know what to do, he was caught. He looked down.
"Alright, you caught me. I was at the movies with some people."
Taylor looked at him with hurt in her eyes and nodded her eyes. "Yeah, I get it. I'm clearly not cool enough to hang out with your friends." She picked up her backpack and walked away.
"Taylor! Come on! It's not like that!"
Surprisingly, Taylor turned back and stormed back up to him. "I know EXACTLY what goes on. You know you like me. I even know it. But when you're in front of your fake jock friends, you don't like me. I see the way you barely nod at me when you're with them but have a real smile when they're not in sight. You make me sick, Chad Danforth."
She started to leave, but he grabbed her hand and twirled her into his arms. Their faces were only inches apart. "You are the only true thing that matters to me. I say this with complete honesty. Yeah, sure I don't want you to hang out with those people. Look what they've done to me. You're too good for that. I'm sorry for treating you like I did. I really am."
Then, without any necessary arguing from Taylor's side, with her knowing he was told the real truth, they held hands and walked down the hallways of their high school, for everyone and anyone to see them together.
