Three Shots
By: Allison
Disclaimer: Not my players, just my playground.
Summary: Save me not, I deserve to die. Missing scene from "Loss". Olivia's thoughts just after the shooting, before her and Elliot find out what really happened.
A/N: First SVU fic ever. Not surprising that it's a drabble-like fic.Inspiration came from a song I adore, called "Tonight I Will Retire" by Damien Jurado.
She remembers the shots. Three of them. One, a pause, and then two in sucession.
She remembers the cold hard pavement, crawling to her fallen bleeding friend - her mind screaming, her hands pressing on the wound as crimson red poured out and began seeping onto Alex's lavender blouse.
She could taste it in the air, smell it, churning in the air like death.
Gazing at her badge, cast haphazardly on to her desk, Olivia clenched her fists.
She could still feel the blood on her hands, wet and sticky. She had scrubbed them until they were raw but it wouldn't come off.
Three shots had removed all the certainty she'd ever known, ripping her world from beneath her feet.
She felt as if she were drowning.
Three shots had been all it took to take Alex's life - and hers along with it.
Fin.
