NO MORE
She locked her gaze onto his for as long as she could. She dare not let his stare stop her from making this decision.
ENOUGH was ENOUGH.
She found it hard to breathe as all she could inhale was the scent of another on her love, her one and only, her...her...everyt...
NO!
He wasn't that anymore, he couldn't be not when he caused more tears than laughter more agony than joy. She had no control over her trembling hands as they clutched her stomach; searching, longing for something that was not there. Something precious that she desperately wanted and may never have again.
She told herself that she would be strong but not even she could control the tears, the trembling of her body as her ears drowned out the sound of his voice begging for a second chance. His lips smeared with lipstick she did not own.
He bent down and clutched her pleading over and over for another chance. Spouting stories of the good times, squeezing tighter and tighter with each memory as if she were an illusion that would vanish any second. He filled her mind with promises of others.
But why couldn't he understand she longed for this one and the others before it?
The ones whose feather kicks startled her no matter how frequent they may be and those who she sang to every night. It took her everything she had to remove those hands from her waist. She peered down at him as her pent up anger lent her strength to speak.
"I've loved you for a very long time Mason, one could say that it was love at first sight"
He smiled and began to stand hope sparking in his eyes "More reason for another ch-"
She quickly placed her finger on his lips and pushed him back down ending his relief
"You see that's the thing Mason, I've always loved you, I've made you a necessity in my life while you've made me an accessory in yours"
Her new found strength was fading causing her to tremble as she begged for one well deserved favor.
"Please let me go, don't beg and remind me all the reasons why I should stay, You've hurt me so much Mase, give me this"
Her legs crumbled like a pretzel beneath her as she rocked and cried lashing out at him as he tried to comfort her.
"FIVE!"
He flinched fully knowing what that meant and knowing his part to play in that now unlucky number
"Five babies I've lost because of you Mason, you know what the doctor said after he sucked out my dead baby out of me yesterday!"
"I told you not to stress yourself out Ms. Lockwood, we talked about how dangerous it could be for the baby"
When she heard those words all she saw was him, him and her, him and them in their bed where they conceived all their children, all of whom she did not have the pleasure of meeting. Him and women that were not her.
Her grandmother always used to say stress was a killer but it didn't come after her. Oh no It had bigger goals, all of whom was innocent.
As she looked at his somber face due to his loss of her in his life. It was then she decided that she could finally leave.
"One more thing, don't you ever forget our children, they deserve a memory as that is all we can give them"
Bonnie didn't look back as she heard for the first time the sound of a grown man breaking.
She walked straight forward to new start. One where although her babies were gone, they were not forgotten.
