Hiei sat in the corner of the room, thinking.

A room empty and dark.

It wasn't the same.

It never would be again.

He was gone, and without him, the flash of light in the darkness that was Hiei's life was also gone.

He was untouchable, flawless.

It couldn't have happened to him.

How could anyone do that to him?

He was so kind, so gentle.

He was so unique in his trustworthiness.

He was beautiful in so many ways.

And the death of one as beautiful as Kurama was like the crushing of a rare rose.
