Author's Note: Hey guys. Sorry for basically radio silence. Got a new story for you guys. Harry Potter. Enjoy.

Chapter 1: The Beginning of a Legendary Minister

Ten-year-old Thomas Marvolo Riddle sat in a secluded corner away from all the other children, watching them with fascination. He was uncertain as to why, but for some reason, the other children never seemed to want to play with him. That suited Tom just fine, however.

He was used to being alone. Nothing new there.

Maybe it was his strange ability to speak to snakes that made them so uneasy. Or perhaps it was this uncanny ability to make Justin, his personal bully at the orphanage, hurt painfully after Justin beat down on him for being weird. Justin would have told the Matron, Mrs. Jonestree, that Tom hurt him, but he realized that to tell on Tom, he would have to tell her just why Tom hurt him, and while Mrs. Jonestree did not take kindly to bullying, she could also smell a lie a mile away, Unfortunately, this was the one day Justin decided to be brave and mess with Tom during lunchtime.

Justin Joycener was a young boy of eleven years, a large, heavy set boy abandoned by his mother after she dropped him off at this god-forsaken place and never returned. Justin quickly established dominance over the younger ones in the orphanage by forcing them to give him their weekly allowance, all except one. Tom Riddle. Tom was weird, always sneaking off outside, to do freaky things, he bet. Plus, Tom wouldn't give him his monthly allowance by the orphanage whenever they were allowed outside, or on field trips, and that could not stand. Not while he was here.

So Justin, eager to mess with Tom, and get his money, stalked over to the table where Tom sat, once again, alone, away from the other kids. Justin crept up behind Tom while he was eating mashed potatoes, pushed his head quickly into the creamy mass, and walked up Tom's ear and whispered,

"That's what you get for not giving me my money, freak."

Suddenly, two things happened in such rapid succession that it was impossible to tell what happened in what order. First, Mrs. Jonestree stood up and yelled, "Justin Joycener! You get over to me THIS INSTANT!" Secondly, Justin was thrown back by a seemingly unseen force into the large stone wall 10 feet behind Tom.

Two things were now a certainty among the children in the lunchroom that day: The first was that Justin Joycener could no longer terrorize them ever again, and the second was that life at St. Brutus' Home for Incurable Delinquents would never be the same ever again.
