Pledge to Love

It was just the day after Craig visited Clyde at the hospital. Craig and Ruby both got home from school and Craig got an ice pack from the freezer. Ruby sat down on the living room couch and Craig helped her by putting the ice pack over her eye.
Ruby said "I got it Craig."
Craig replied "Do you want an Eskimo Pie?"
Ruby said "oh yes I'd love one."
Craig fetched an Eskimo Pie from the freezer for Ruby.
After Craig gave Ruby her ice cream bar he went on to say "though I will always regret hitting you and you know it I can't go on feeling guilty about it forever."
Ruby said "well no you've certainly felt guilty long enough. I know lots of little sisters would use the fact they're the little sister to their advantage and keep their big brothers feeling guilty but I shall not."
Craig said "oh don't you know it, we have a damn good brother and sister relationship."
Ruby replied "oh yes you're not the kind of big brother that would put a spider in my bed."
Craig giggled and said "don't give me bad ideas now."
Ruby laughed and almost choked on her ice cream bar.
Craig added "be careful Ruby I helped nurse your black eye I don't want to have to do the Heimlich on you or CPR for that matter."
Ruby quickly responded "you won't because I know I'm safe under your supervision Craig."
