What is forgiveness?

Can it be earned?

Can it be bought?

Is it something that is just given in time?

Can anything be forgiven? Or are some things beyond hope?

Can anyone be saved? Or are some things inherently damning?

When do you cross that line? That thin line between damned and forgiven? What step is the last between salvation, and hatred…?

Is it fighting? Is it violence? Is it when you betray someone's trust? Is it when you hurt family? Or when you harm friends? Is it when you break someone's heart?

Or is it when you hurt someone you love?

I don't know.

Is a mistake easier to forgive? Something said in the heat of the moment? Something unplanned and little considered?

Is it harder to forgive something premeditated? Something planned and thought out, calculated and intentional?

I don't know.

Where should people draw that line?

How far should we go to earn another's forgiveness?

When do we stop being worthy of it?

What do you do when you stop thinking you can be forgiven? What do you do when you don't think your worth it? What do you do when you've offended the person that is the basis of your whole world? What do you do when you've made them so angry, when you don't just want forgiveness, a part of you needs it? What do you do… when no matter how much you want it… you don't think you're worth it?

What do you do when the person you love… probably should never forgive you… but you need their forgiveness…

What do you do?
