It's been a week since Dean disappeared and Sam's blind panic has dulled to stabbing fear. Stone one of the foundation that Sam's resting everything on has vanished into thin air.
The last time he'd lost his brother, Sam had at least known where Dean was. He'd had deals to offer, and when they were rejected, revenge to seek. In his despair, he'd let Ruby play on his weaknesses and that's not happening again.
Now Sam's going with his strengths. He's smart, resourceful, ruthless when he has to be, and he's going to find Dean and bring him home. Somehow.
