Spoiled Once Again
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the canon characters; they belong to Arthurian legend as well as BBC in this particular interpretation. I am only halfway into Season Two, so I apologize for any lack of knowledge regarding later seasons. Based on the drabble prompt: "You're seriously like a man-child!"
Word Count: 200
Arthur Pendragon inhales deeply as he raises his bow level to his chin. Lining the arrow up with the deer's liver, the Crown Prince of Camelot narrows his blue eyes in concentration. With the wind blowing in his favor, the poor, defenseless deer should have no indication that Arthur is hiding in the thicket mere meters away. Just as he prepares to loose the arrow from the bow, a crashing noise comes from behind Arthur. In his shock, Arthur shoots the arrow while the deer flees into the thicker undergrowth. Of course, the arrow hits the tree behind the deer's prior position perfectly.
"You're seriously like a man-child!" Arthur groans in frustration, cupping his hands over the back of his head. "I swear, Merlin, a toddling child has more coordination than you!" he shouts, cuffing the male sorcerer over his head for an extra scolding.
"Sorry, Sire," Merlin apologizes. "See, there was this log, and I-"
"I don't care. Just go and fetch my arrow."
"How was your hunt?" Morgana inquires when Arthur and Merlin return.
"Spoiled, once again, by my buffoon of a servant!" Arthur answers.
"Oops!" Merlin quietly says, prompting both Gwen and Morgana into uncontrollable giggles.
Author's Note: And there it is! My first Merlin FanFiction! I started watching this show last May after I graduated high school and after my IB exams were over. Needless to say, college, work, family, and other factors have cut into my Netflix binging of this amazing series! I am only on Season 2, but I am extremely in love with all of the characters so far! (Except Uther, but he was a jerk on another show I watched as well, so I already had some bias against him before Merlin.) Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed this drabble that I wrote for the March Drabble Challenge! Reviews are always greatly appreciated. Be on the lookout for more Merlin stories from me; this fandom is really inspiring and I have loads of story ideas already! Until next time, dear readers; have an amazing day, afternoon, or night!
