I own nothing. Character: Rose
Prompt: windy
Better Left Untold
For the first time in her life, Rose Weasley wished that the wind would sweep through the kitchen window and steal her away. She did not wish to continue to studiously avoid looking at her Dad. She could easily imagine his face becoming redder than a tomato. Why couldn't Hugo have kept his mouth shut about the whole affair? Their Dad hadn't needed to know!
"Hugo," Ron fiercely began, "I would appreciate it if you would not tell… such horrid lies in an attempt to get your sister in trouble. Your sister would never date a Malfoy!"
"But Dad," Hugo whined, "Rose really-"
"Enough," Ron yelled.
Rose glanced sideways at her brother and saw how wide his eyes had become. For once in his life, Hugo was telling the truth but it was not his secret to tell.
"Me? Dating a Malfoy," Rose scornfully laughed aloud.
She felt calmer once she realized that her Dad believed her lie. One day, Rose knew that all the lies that she had told, were going to bite her when they were least expected.
