Gone
It had been years since the major showdown between the Autobots and the Decepticons. Not only did it involve the fate of both Cybertronians alike, but humans and Earth as well. Most survived the great final battle. Others perished.
And there was one Cybertronian Arcee longed for each day to come back...
But he was gone.
Nothing could be done to bring him back. To run into his arms again and feel his lips against hers...
He was a Decepticon, which made them both mortal enemies, but their feelings rivaled their hatred and ended up loving each other instead. No matter if it was wrong or not, they needed each other. The days they spent with each other were so happy before everything seemed to slip away...
Now he wasn't among the living. She couldn't see him anymore.
What unknown force decided to take him away from this universe? Was it because she didn't say "I love you" enough to him? That she still had her walls around herself before she realized he was always there?
But she was too late to realize he was always there for her.
He was willing to wait... no matter how long it took her to destroy those walls.
"... why did you do it? Why did you... say behind? ... Dammit, why? Why?"
Glancing wistfully at a hologram photo, she slammed a fist onto the table, feeling herself sob against her arms. A mere second felt like hours as she was curled in sorrow.
Why did you leave me?
"Mother…?"
Looking through tear submerged optics, she saw the tiny silhouette of a child mech and began to clear her face.
"Oh, Cliff, I'm so sorry..."
Walking up to embrace her son, she picked him up from his feet and began to rock him gently. The little frame was decked in ruby red... The flamboyant shine she grew a fondness to during her first few moments on Earth. With him.

"Why are you crying, mom? What's wrong...?"
"It's nothing, honey, I'm alright...!" the blue femme held back a sniffle. "Maybe... things haven't left at all."
