It was a warm sunny day as 7-year-old Kokoro skipped to the academy for her first day of ninja training. Her backpack was on her back, the sun was shining against her soft, brown hair, and she was going to train as a ninja for the first time, under Iruka-sensei. She had heard from older ninja that he was very nice, and she was also exited about new people she would meet. She hadn't gone too far out of her clan limits, except to play in the forest, and sometimes go over and play at her best friend Kakari's house.
Kokoro cheerfully opened the academy doors, only to run into a boy her age, with brown hair as well, but darker than hers, and red fang markings on his face. "Sorry!" she cried, as they both fell to the floor. "It's okay." he laughed. "I'm Kiba, Who're you?" That was when she actually looked at him. And she fell in love.
"Um, I'm, uh K-Kokoro. Ki-Kitsune Kokoro. N-nice to meet you." She awkwardly held out her hand. but immediately dropped it. He laughed again, and her shyness faded away. "Well, let's get to class!" she said cheerfully. And that was it. And after that day, they had been friends ever since.
