The 37th Hunger Games in the point of view of Relevae Zanders

This is my second Hunger Games Fanfic.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Hunger Games.

A/N: Hope You Enjoy. :D the whole story is in the POV of Relevae unless mentioned so.

The rain was pounding hard against my roof, it sounded like a giant walking on my roof. I could hear the faint sound of thunder. It was the same every day in District 6, the science district.

Everyday everyone older than twelve had to work at the factories, working on any new experiment, or as to a apprentice of any 'brilliant' scientist. We were required to run tests, and report the information to Capitol.

But, today was reaping day, no work, just reaping day. The one day a year, that we would see two kids from our district leave.

The reaping was held in the city square, right in front of the Justice Building.

I got out of bed, and read the clock on the side of the table, 9:30, I had slept in, and I had to hurry the reaping was at 10:30. I walked out of my bedroom, and right away I saw my father on the computer, surrounded by papers, with a harried expression on his face. He must have been working all night.

I feel bad, my dad works during the night, and rests during the day, the only reason he says he works a lot is because we need money, since my mom had left, and became the head scientist of a test in the capitol, she left 5 years ago, and the capitol said she had died in an 'accident'.

"Dad, its almost time for the reaping, you have been working all night!" I said.

He sighed, "Its almost ten, get ready honey, we can't be late, you know what happened to the Taylors."

I nodded and walked away. The Taylors had shown up to the last reaping two minutes late, and they were all sent to the district 6 prison for six months.

I pulled out my pale blue strapless dress with rhinestones on the bottom, from my closet and put it on.

By the time I was completely ready, my dad was too.

Together we walked to the reaping.

I waved goodbye to my dad, as I walked to the fifteen year old section.

Right as I sat down, the mayor began his speech, " Welcome to the 37th Hunger Games, the celebration of the rebels fight 37 years ago, which sends…"

I zoned out, he has the same exact speech every year.

I didn't start paying attention till our escort came, Drea Aflele came up, "Welcome to the 37th Hunger Games!" she walked to the girls bowl, "and the girl tribute is Livia Taylor."

The Taylors! No this can't be happening I thought. Their family has suffered too much, two years ago the eldes Damon was chosen for the games and he died at the cornucopia, last year they where all sent to prison for half a year.

I couldn't let this happen to all of them, "I volunteer as tribute," I announce.

I walk to the stage, careful not too confident or too scared.

I walked up on the stage, and caught my fathers eye, he looked at me with a solemn face.

Our escort walked to the boys ball, "Alex Michelon."

The one boy I liked, of course he had to be chosen.

We were led to the Justice Building by the Head Peacekeeper. I walked into my assigned room, and sat on the couch

Right as I sat down, my dad strolled in, "I am proud of you Relevae, you helped the Taylor's from more suffering, but if you don't come back I won't have anyone anymore, I love you Relevae, please come back." He kissed me on the forehead, embraced me tightly, and left.
