Slytherin and Gryffindor

He puts his hands on yours and you rip them away, venom spewing from your mouth before he has a chance to open his.

Fools hide their pain in their eyes and the brilliant hide it in their smile is what your father told you, and you're sure it's true, but you can't smile, not right now.

Again, he attempts to pull you close but you jerk at physical contact. He's a Gryffindor – an annoying, cocky Gryffindor and he's not getting one step closer.

Snake and Lion

He's willing to be the one to tell everyone you're together, he says.

But you shake your head slowly, just wanting him to stop. He's always playing the hero, the great, the saviour.

You're Astoria Greengrass – you're independent and you don't want nor need a saviour. It's not because you're weak (as he says, people who can't cry are weak) it's because you're stronger than him.

Stupid, brave, Gryffindor.

Cunning and Bravery

You stand on top of the table in the great hall, and you announce it: I love her, and you point in her direction. People gasp, and eyes widen – spiteful whispers drift through the air.

And you're so bloody proud that you're blinded by it – you're blinded by all the traits that should make you great.

She's there, at her table, frowning and laughing (at you, possibly), and she's telling everyone about how awfully obsessed you are with her.

It will spread, of course, for she is Astoria Greengrass and you're just McLaggen, but the news won't hit you (well, it might not hit you at all) until you're the last empty ear.

Astoria and Cormac

Your feelings for her burn so much that it is almost a physical pain. She is ingrained into your heart – a tattoo, she's woven under your skin, like ink.

So when she jerks at physical contact, when she tells you she doesn't love you, when she can't hide her pain in her smile and its there in her beautiful eyes, all you can do is love her more.

You know her so well by now that there's nothing you can hate – whatever she does, she's just Astoria and whatever you do, you're Cormac, and you're just trying to find a place for yourselves.

Girl and Boy

You lean in, and your lips capture his. Those fireworks set off under your eyelids; the inferno ignites under your skin. You love him, your mind screams. Lovelovelovehim, and it's the only thought you'll ever have.

He knows you like the back of his hand, you've had a bad day and he can tell just from your kiss. He reminds you that it's okay to cry (when of course, it is not), and you just smile at the fact someone knows you and wants to know you.

Soul and Soul

Because at the end of the day it wouldn't matter who or what you both were… all you are is two souls, just two skeletons.

Two people in love.

A/N- For anyone who reads my stories regularly you know I love this pairing! It needs more love from me, definitely. Hope this is liked, and again, wish me luck for the next round - please don't shut the tab without reviewing! :)
