Lydia turned the page of her book angrily, nearly tearing The Cask of Amontillado. She was still fresh from an argument with Beetlejuice, one which ended with her shouting his name three times, banishing him back to the Neitherworld. It was clear it would take a while for her rage to blow over.

Growling softly, she tossed the book aside and laid a pillow over her face. It smelled like Delia's sickening lavender detergent.

A small tap of something on glass caused her to look up. A quick examination of her room left her puzzled. The window was open, and a soft breeze was blowing.

She almost didn't catch it, but out of the corner of her eye she saw a motion in her mirror. A small pebble had been thrown against it, not hard or big enough to break it, but enough to make a noise.

She sighed and shook her head. What did he want now?

What she saw on the other side surprised her. Somewhere below the mirror's relative position, Beetlejuice looked up at her with hopeful eyes. He held a ghoulish-looking boom box over his head, and an oddly familiar song was playing.

Spending all my nights, all my money going out on the town
Doing anything just to get you off of my mind
But when the morning comes, I'm right back where I started again
Trying to forget you is just a waste of time

Baby come back… any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you…

At this point, Beetlejuice began to sing along in his scratchy but charming voice.

"Baby come back… you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you…"

She was giggling hysterically now. His face brightened, and he zoomed up to her eye level, throwing the boom box aside, where it landed somewhere with a screeching meow.

"You're so sweet." She smiled, twirling some of his blond hair around her finger.

"So, all is forgiven?" he placed his hand on the edges of the mirror, bringing his face close to hers.

"All is forgiven," she echoed, and closed the distance between them.
