Chief Chilly's Secret Prize
By Yoshizilla-Rhedosaurus
It was a raining morning in Seaside Hill. Lakithunder, Mummipokey, and Cheepskipper were all gathered on the sandy shore near the start of the main pathway in Seaside Hill, with Chief Chilly present as he was pacing back and forth in the sand, his two Ice Bullies standing firmly behind him. Mario was there as well, having been summoned by Chief Chilly.
"Hmm... they should be here any moment now..." Chief Chilly commented as he looked up in the sky, to see the green warty witch Gruntilda Winkybunion riding on her broomstick, with a lump of coal behind her.
"This better be good, plumber boy," Gruntilda rhymed as she rolled her right hand around, glancing at Mario. "Because if it's not, I'll turn you into a toy!"
"Relax-a." Mario commented as he raised his hands up. "This is totally important."
"Hurr! Let's hurry!" The lump of coal, Old King Coal, muttered as he bounced on the broom. "I can't stand to wait!"
Petey Piranha emerged out of the sand as he bellowed, revealing his presence as he clapped his big, green leaves together.
"Way to make a shocking presence, Petey!" Lakithunder stated as he gave the mutated Piranha Plant two thumbs up. "It sure sparked the mood around here!"
Everyone except Mummipokey groaned at Lakithunder's electric puns as Mummipokey chuckled.
"I enjoyed it!" Mummipokey stated happily to Lakithunder as he moved his mummified cactus body side to side.
Chief Chilly rolled his eyes as Lilligant and Whimsicott approached the scene, both of them sitting down on wooden logs.
"Oh, it must be something important if all the major stand owners are here." Lilligant commented as she turned to Whimsicott, holding her leaves together.
Whimsicott nodded as she folded her stubby brown arms together. "Yeah... although I wonder where Waluigi is. Haven't seen him in a while."
"Oh shut up! I want to hear what Chief Chilly over here has to say. I have a boat stand to run, you know..." Cheepskipper grumbled as he gritted his teeth.
"You all have stands to run, but barring a few odd owners absent..." Chief Chilly stated as he watched Clawgrip scuttle onto the scene. "...I feel this is a meeting that you all will agree to be satisfying."
The stand owners all glanced at each other as they turned to each other, muttering as Mario whistled.
"Hey-a!" Mario shouted out as he moved his hands around. "This is important! Vital to the very stake of Seaside Hill-a!"
Clawgrip pierced his claws as he murmured. "Yarr... I don't feel good about this whole ordeal..."
"Then you'll feel good about this." Chief Chilly commented as he cleared his throat. "I have a special, secret item that I carved somewhere here in Seaside Hill. It's hidden well, but when you spot it, you'll know what it is."
Everyone looked at each other oddly as they muttered amongst each other, turning back to Chief Chilly.
"Don't worry. Your prize will be worthy," Chief Chilly stated as he stomped his left foot, standing firmly. "Whoever gets the prize will have their stand advertised all over Seaside Hill!"
None of the store owners were buying it as they looked at Chief Chilly blankly.
Mario sighed as he stepped up, moving his hands around. "I'll personally advertise your store all over the Mushroom Kingdom. And you all know that even my crappiest projects sell well just because of a-me, Mario."
That was all the various store owners needed to hear, as they rushed away from the scene. Chief Chilly growled as he turned to Mario, shaking his head.
"I didn't tell them exactly where it was hidden." Chief Chilly commented to Mario.
Mario shrugged as he shook his head. "Who cares-a. I'm just glad the author is writing about a-me again-a."
