"You were never meant to have this power it belongs to me, Kaname-chan." I didn't look up at the voice, my eyes watering at the intense pain radiating across my abdomen.
'Damn her, agh.' I spat at the floor, landing right at her feet annoyed at her constant rambling.
"Go to hell," I seethed through clenched teeth as the pain intensified some more. Damn I don't know how much more I can take this, I thought as blood started to seep through my clothes. I heard a shrill giggle, at my ear making me flinch as I didn't notice her approach at all.
"You know you really annoy me, Naraku wanted me to keep you alive in case you changed your mind, but I can see that isn't happening," she whispered in my ear right before she smacked her fist into my gut.
"AAAAAACK," I screamed, my knees buckling as I had begun to shake from the constant pain coming from all over my body. Before I could completely collapse she grasped me by my hair, lifting my face merely inches from her own, close enough for me to see the red slits of her eyes glow with malice.
"Awwww little girl waiting for her man to save her is she," she said, her girly voice drenched with mockery, as her smile widen revealing a contortion of teeth, glistening, ready for the kill. I didn't answer her, instead choosing to close my eyes, trying not to let the panic take control over me. A warmth began to surge my finger tips, releasing a jolt of electricity throughout my body. "Why are you smiling, your about to die," she said shaking my head more violently, as if I couldn't hear the panic begin to raise in her voice. A smile began to cross my lips before I knew it, and then I opened my eyes.
"No. I won't."
Kururgi Shrine 2012
"Agh dammit I'm super late, Dad is going to kill me now," I shouted, ignoring the quizzical looks I was getting as I kept sprinting down the sidewalk towards Kururugi Shrine. The heat started to take its toll on me as I felt the sweat on my braw begin to dripdown my face. The sun was beginning to sun, leaving the sky in a mirage of blue, re, and orange.
Wearing nothing but my training clothes I debated whether or not I should change before approaching my father as he had a devotion for formality when it came to the Doll Festival. Reaching the stairs I quickly decided against it, hoping a sooner appearance would appease my father. I glanced at my ragged watch, as gravity began to bare down on my already sore legs.
"Damn why couldn't we own a supermarket, than this would be so much easier, and I wouldn't have to climb these god forsaken stairs!" I finally reached the top of the stairs, sprinting with all my energy to my father's stand, not realizing how crazy I must have looked. I smacked into the table, gripping it for dear life as I gasped the sweet air.
"Kaname, seriously you decide today to be late," I heard my father say angrily. I flinched at his words realizing that he probably had expected me to come early. Dammit just my luck, I thought to myself as I looked up to his usual frown.
"I'm sorry Dad, the contest went longer than I exp-"
"I don't need to hear your excuses Kaname, it was wishful thinking to expect anything from you," he growled, listing his hand to silence me. My fists clenched the table so tightly, that my knuckles began to turn white. I clenched my teeth to hold my tongue, knowing my father he wouldn't let me forget this, so there was no point in arguing with him any longer. My father sighed, turning over to grab one of his keys. "I need you to pick up some of the amulets from the storage space from behind the house, can you at least accomplish that for now." Ignoring the jab I nodded, holding out my hand to take the key from him. His frown deepened as he ganced at my hand, as he seemed weary about giving me such a responsiblilty. Annoyed I just grabbed the key from his hand and turned away towards the house.
I quickly reached the storage place, placing the key into the lock, hearing the sudden click before opening the door. I saw nothing, as there was no light inside the room.
"Damn is there a flashlight in here," I muttered walking deeper in the room, remembering putting the box somewhere in the back last year. Suddenly something caught my eye. AHA, I thought, noticing a black box to the right of me. I kneeled over looking into the box only to be disappointed. Agh, no amulets, where in the hell could they be, I thought before realizing what I was looking at. Before me lay what looked like to be a Katana, a very old one from the amount of dust that had accumulated around it. The hilt was engraved with a variety of intricate designs all swirling and twisting beautifully. I unsheathed the sword, my eyes marveling its beauty, as the blade shined dangerously. I grinned thinking of using it. Maybe I'll keep this, I thought to myself putting the sword back beside to resume looking for the amulets.
As I got up from my knees, I felt the wooden floor creak slightly before crumbling away below my feet. I shrieked as I fell down the hole, my hands gripping the floor in a death grip. Gasping I looked down, an uneasiness swirling around my stomache. Before I could think of anything else, the floor I was gripping crumbled away and I began to fall.
"AHHHH," I screamed as I fell into the unknown, and before I knew it darkness enveloped me and I descended into nothingness.
