Forget me not. I ask of you.Wherever your life takes you to.
And if we never meet again.
Think of me every now and then.

The rain was pouring down unmercifully. Dark clouds gathered up in the sky and a distant rumbling announced that a thunder was near.
But nevertheless she was still out hunting. Her top soaked and clinging to her pert breasts. Her tanned arms bare. She shivered, still ready to fight anything. That's what a Slayer had to do. That's what Buffy had to do. The stake dangled loosely in her hand and she slurred across the graveyard waiting.
Waiting for something to take her mind off him. He was gone. She was still here burdening the pain, the suffering. The death. It had been a month now. A month of sorrow and tears. She had cried herself to sleep every night, thinking about their last conversation.
I love you.
No you don't. But thanks for saying it.
Anger overcame her. He didn't even believe her. Not one word. Maybe it was her fault. Maybe she had waited too long to tell him. And now it was too late. Too late to save anything important. Too late to save her tears. Too late to save her heart. Too late for her.
Sensing a vampire she tensed and her hand gripped the stake firmly. 4 of them stepped out of the shadows, one uglier than the other. Sneering they sensed what she was, who she was. She saw it in their eyes. They brought a faint yellow glow to the stormy night. It was clear what they wanted. It was clear what she had to do.
One of them hissed and they all charged at her as if a bell had gone off announcing the fight.
Blows and kicks were exchanged. It was all a blur. She saw him everywhere. They all carried his face. But she still fought, pushing the sharp piece of wood in their hearts. Dust flew around and the rain stung in her eyes. But it didn't matter to her. Nothing mattered to her anymore. Not since he…
A fist collided with her face. The taste of salty blood rushed in her mouth. Ignoring it she spun on her feet and punched back.
Straddling him she began to pound her fists into it. She saw him in it. His face. Angry she began to cry. "Fuck you!"
Suddenly the vampire stopped her fist. She shook her head and the blurriness vanished. Two endless blue orbs stared back at her.
Shocked she pulled her hands back and jumped up, backing off.
It wasn't him. It could never be him. So why did she know differently?
She started to shake. The stake dropped on to the grass.
Everything fell silent around her. The rain was now heavier and she was completely soaked. He stood there, eyes watching her. But they had no expression.
"No." she whispered.
He slowly moved towards her. His scent reached her now and she wondered why she hadn't noticed it before.
Falling to the floor he bent down next to her. Reaching out for her face she closed her eyes concentrating on his soft touch. His hand wasn't cold like she was used to but warm. His lips brushed against hers and they kissed. She never knew he had such soft lips. The heat that was generating off him like crazy. Then he whispered in her ear his warm breath surrounding her.
Breath?
She opened her eyes to find him gone. She touched her lips still feeling the warmth. A single tear fell from her face and she cradled herself in the grass.
"I love you too." she whispered and watched the rain fall.
