-1Daddy!L drabble. I dunno, I saw this PRECIOUS picture on DA and I had no choice but to write it. Also I have a hugeeeee soft spot for baby!Mello. It just kills me every time. Also, wouldn't L make the best dad in the whole world?! He eats so much flippin candy…

"Daddy!!"

L turned quickly in his seat to see a tiny boy about two years of age running towards him, tears spilling over his eyes and his bottom lip puffed out.

"Oh, what is it Near?" He picked the small boy up in his arms, allowing the tiny boy to wrap his arms around his father's neck, the white sleeves of his extra-large pajama shirt falling down past his hands.

"Mello Yellow took Near-Near's toys…tellum to givum back!" L turned towards the doorway to find a small boy cowering in the darkness of the doorway. He quickly hid behind the doorframe when he saw he had been spotted. L placed Near down, allowing the child to clutch the leg of his jeans with his pudgy, snot and tear covered hand.

"Mello? It's okay, Mello. Come on out." L managed to persuade the blonde out from his hiding spot, chest puffed out and lip sucked in tight. "Good boy. Now, why don't you tell me why you took your brother's toys?"

He chuckled as the younger boy kicked his feet into the carpet, fists clenched.

"Near hid my chocolate…"

L turned to Near who had now moved behind his dad's leg, hiding from conviction. He smiled and reached in his pocket, pulling out two large chocolate bars. He gave one each to the two boys, patting them on their heads as they smiled in contentment.

"Near, it isn't nice to take what's not yours. Mello, you know I have lots of chocolate, whenever you want some just ask me, okay? But if you have a problem, come to me about it. Two wrongs don't make a right." The two children nodded, a bit of saliva dripping from their mouths as they sucked up the chocolate from their fingers and lips. L poked Mello in his plump tummy, causing the boy to giggle and clutch the flesh.

"Now that you got your chocolate, why don't you go get Near's toys?" Mello did as he was told, causing Near to smile and giggle with relief.

"Now, who's the best daddy in the world?" L asked, hiding the ego that was obviously growing larger with each passing moment spent with his boys. Each of the children pointed at him, before tackling him to the ground, smearing chocolate everywhere.

"You are!"
