Rating: K+
Couple: Shawn & Juliet
Disclaimer: I don't own Psych… depressing isn't it…
Summary: It's kinda an alternate ending for the "Bounty Hunters" episode. I liked my version better to the actual ending of that story haha. Hope you enjoy.
Mistake…?
Shawn began to walk away, a small smirk on his face. 'She wants me.' He thought, but even he was shaken at the close encounter.
"Shawn!" Juliet's voice called out from behind him.
He decided to take his time turning to face her, but when he did he was completely surprised at how close she was to him. "Jules?"
"I was thinking…" She began looking at him through lowered lashes.
"Dinner would be great." Shawn said smugly.
Juliet smiled, tilting her head back slightly. "I wasn't offering."
His eyes rolled upwards before they landed back on hers. "A movie and dinner."
She shook her head, eyes never leaving his face.
His face suddenly lit up. "I got it." Leaning forward slightly he cocked an eyebrow at her in a suggestive manner. "A nice massage."
A slim blond eyebrow raised, she decided it was to good a chance to pass up on some teasing. "For me or you?" She questioned a smile gracing her lips as a light flickered in his eyes.
Shocked but rarely speechless, he retaliated with a charming smile. "We could take turns."
"Shawn." Juliet smiled. "I was thinking about earlier."
He couldn't help but be confused at her flirting tactics. "Earlier?"
She nodded, "Yes earlier." She glanced back at her desk pointedly. "Like ten, maybe twenty, minutes ago." She looked at him watching to see if he caught on.
"Ooh… What about it?" His tone was uncharacteristic.
"Maybe I changed my mind about…" She trailed off suddenly extremely nervous.
"About?" Shawn questioned his hope rising.
"Shawn!" A very distinctive voice yelled from the far end of the hall. "I have work in the morning Shawn. We need to leave. And Juliet needs to rest, she's had a long day."
A nerve in Shawn's jaw twitched at his best friends interference. "Just a few more minutes buddy. I'm talking to Jules."
"I don't care Shawn." Gus yelled from the entrance door.
Juliet looked at Shawn and smiled. "Well you better get going. We can talk about this another time." Looking over at Gus, she continued. "Sorry Gus I was just explaining how thankful I am that you guys helped with the case."
Gus smiled and nodded. "Of course Juliet, we're always willing to help a friend." His tone changed once he addressed Shawn, making Juliet stifle a small laugh. "Shawn lets go."
"Okay just head on out I'm just gonna say bye to Jules." He waved him off.
Gus refused the offer. "I'll just wait here then."
"Buddy…"
"I'll wait."
"Gus."
"Waiting." He began a low tuned whistle.
"Gus…" Shawn was losing patience.
The whistling went up a pitch.
Shawn glanced back at Juliet. "Uh, well, we can continue our conversation tomorrow then."
"Yeah." She nodded before turning around to get her things from her desk. "Bye guys and thanks again."
"Bye Juliet." Once Gus was sure Shawn was in ear-shot he began in hushed tones. "What the hell where you doing in here with Juliet?"
"Nothing." Shawn's tone was slightly defensive.
"Right. You know I have work in the morning Shawn." Gus vented.
"Yeah." He sounded distant.
"You were trying to impress her weren't you?" It was a rhetorical question.
"No… Not really."
"Right." Gus said starting his car. "You like her a lot."
"I'm not answering that."
"It wasn't a question Shawn, it was a fact." Gus was now the cocky one for this spilt second.
