Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, J.k. does.

A/N: I've been writing every spare minute I get so here is a drabble I wrote at the begining of this week. On the way to my holiday.
Enjoy and take care!

"Miss Granger."

Hermione looked up from her dinner and into the brilliant emerald orbs of her transfiguration professor.

"Yes, professor?"

"Follow me please." Minerva started to walk briskly from the Great Hall. Hermione smiled at Harry, Ginny and Ron and followed quickly after her professor.

The pair came to Minerva's chambers and sat in the large living room. Both professor and student took a seat on the large forest green sofa that was placed in front of the beautiful fireplace.

"Is there something you wanted to speak to me about, professor?"

"Yes." Minerva kicked her shoes off and tucked her feet underneath her. "You seem ... distracted ... of late." Minerva turned, lent against the arm of the sofa and faced her star pupil. Hermione had her head hung low and didn't meet the eyes of her favourite professor.

"Hermione?" When Hermione still remained silent, Minerva knelt down and placed two fingers under Hermione's chin and brought her head up. "You know you can speak to me."

Hermione nodded and looked at her professor, trying to hold back the tears. Minerva raised her hand and gently caressed Hermione's cheek. Hermione smiled lightly at her professor and allowed the tears to fall. Minerva pulled Hermione into an embrace, gently running her fingers through Hermione's beautiful hair.

"There, there." Minerva whispered.

The pair stayed in each others arms for half an hour before Hermione broke the silence.

"I'm sorry, Minerva."

"It's okay, Hermione." Glancing at the clock, Minerva cringed as she realised that curfew was at an end. "We should get you back, my dear."

"Can – can I stay with you?" Hermione held onto her professor, hoping and praying that she would say yes.

"Of course." It was barely a whisper, but Hermione heard it.

"Thank you."

THE END.
