Lydia stared into the mirror. The phone had rang a few times earlier, but she ignored it. She wouldn't give in to him so easily this time. He could damn well come back when he meant what he said. She would not be caught in his downpour, in his storm again. He didn't know what he had. She slid her shirt over her head and exhaled. She reached over and turned the shower on. As she undressed the rest of the way, she reflected on her situation. The cloudy skies, the tears, the anger, the hurt. She pulled her laptop on the counter and found the station she liked. She couldn't listen to her station with Jackson, but now she could. Mostly commercials. But she didn't mind. As she stepped into the shower, it came to the radio dj, to announce the next song.
"And ladies and gentleman, not quite appropriate weather for this song, considering it's a sunny day, but since it's a new single on the charts and number 1 today, here's One More Girl with their hit single When It Ain't Raining"
"Well there used to be a time when your roses and your wine
Were the kind of offer I could not refuse" Lydia was taken aback at the lyrical likeness to her situation.
"You think love's a swingin' door just a shelter from your storms
But baby I can't cry one more tear for you." Lydia started mumbling along, stumbling through the lyrics but catching on slowly.
"So you can come back when you want me as bad as you need me

Oh you better come back baby when it ain't raining" Lydia was starting to actually feel better, the lyrics soothing the pain in her heart. If these girls could be strong so could she.

But they won't sweep me off my feet not this time" She found herself singing into the shower head, pretending it was Jackson and swinging around to the slow but steady beat. She had to get this song!

And baby I can't take no more cloudy skies" She sang very loudly and sweetly, considering shower acoustics usually suck. She was so insanely happy right now.

Then, she sent it online(by impulse) to Jackson and jumped up happily. She felt in control. Like she could survive without him. She dressed and went to her room to play the hell out of her new favourite song.
